Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

I would like the Zenith's X driver in a model with less sharp trebles (mainly less 3kHz elevation) and a bit more bass.

I'm sure you'll get your wish, I'd be very interested in that iem too.

Seems like KZ have slowed down the release schedule, unless I'm missing them.

KZ decet is announced a month ago and still MIA
but its was Chinese new year holiday early this february, so they might just be on holiday for a week or so.
and no iem reveal or anything.

KZ Carol Pro got released tough, on (discounted) cheaper price compared to the OG carol as well.

I had both on the list, particularly keen to try the Vader Balanced as I've not heard a triple DD, but was looking at graphs of them and noticed they both have sub bass tucks of 3-5db. Any idea if there are any switch settings that elevate the sub bass? Sub bass tucks make me very sad if they're obvious...

Also do we have a ZVX pro graph yet?
I gotta say... the Vader Bal. bass is ridiculous. almost too bassy at times. And yes, turning the first two switches up does enhance the subbass.

graphs

you may notice from these graphs that the treble switches don't actually mess with the treble... rather, they reduce bass.

I have the ND Planet (received few minutes ago), so I can make a small comparison:
KZ Libra X: Thin and bright
HZSOUND Snow White: Bright
TKZK TK02: Balanced
ND Planet: Just bass and muddiness

In my opinion, Hzsound sounds the best out of these four [1) HZ 2)TK02 3) LibraX=Planet] HBB probably doesn’t focus on budget IEMs, which might explain the enthusiasm. The sound quality is similar.
The build quality of the ND Planet is the weakest. Overall to avoid, not worth buying.

Zvx Pro is slaughtering them all.

Also there were KZ Orion which is... disappeared right after release
judging from several review in AliExpress, there is multiple QC issues with Orion.

Skipping KZ while they dont do micro planars releases. TRN already launched 3.

(Zenith is interesting, but lacks 5-6k... wish it was really tuned like EDC Pro).
Microplanar is interesting, its an evolution from pseudo planars that KZ will not touch even with 10 feet pole out of fear of another "fake driver" drama.

but that pseudo planar have evolve into a proper tweeter planar with (simpler) proper etched thin voice coils not unlike proper planars, instead of the older an adapted DD coils that stuck on the membrane.

considering how well, "slow" bellsings BAs evolution in compared to DD and now microplanars, it would interesting if KZ actually tried to use Microplanar for their high or highfreq, instead of their go to BAs. there is limit on how much of 31736 BAs they could cram into an iems.

Dangit, still waiting for my ZVX Pro. Mr. Postman, ride that bicycle harder!

When you say Libra X is thin, do you mean the tamed down bass? Or do you find the mids and treble somehow lacking? I find just the bass a bit too modest, otherwise it's remarkably good. Just looks and feels just as cheap as it is.

Just curious:)

Ah that might be it. All i'd seen since the Zenith was the announcement of the new DD/Planar hybrid.

I thought the TK02 was rather... too smooth and not detailed enough for me. I thought it was basically the same as the White Snow, but apparently not?? I wonder if I'd like it. But I do have the ZVX Pro so I probably don't need it lol.

it's... CLEAR, and yes, a bit thin-sounding in the treble. It HAS bass... just not a TON. Out of the three treble-focused IEMs I've been testing lately [Libra X, TFZ T2 Pro, and Phoenixcall] the Libra had SLIGHTLY more bass impact then the T2 Pro, but the latter's bass was CLEANER. PC was somewhere in between, with the sub-bass TOO rolled-off for my taste. T2 Pro is a BETTER Libra X. STAGEY like crazy, super treble extension... it's more engaging than the Libra X, and you can the treble is better, although as with any treble-head IEM, the tonality can be a TAD off at times.

Just ordered a 7Hz Salnotes Zero and a case for it for around $5. I know it's old but I'm thinking it will be a nice compliment to my other daily drivers...I use my PRX for any and all subgenres of metal/rock/pop, my recently purchased KB02 for EDM/hip hop, my Rosefinch for trap/drill/dubstep/drum & bass/other "dirtier" bass heavy genres and I'll use the Zero for classical/acoustic and similar genres.

I still pull out my Castor Bass and Castor Harman from time to time but they don't seem to be getting as much playtime currently.

Too sharp, with too pronounced pinna gain.

TK02 is detail monster regarding to Planet.
I thinking most people will rather choose TK02 over the Snow White as more balanced. In my ears Snow White is brighter, with less bass.
If someone have Tk02 doesn't need Snow White.

Edit: I just found that. It's as it is. graph (16).png

Edit2: Probably too much dampening. On the photo og. filter:

After changing to cotton just mesh (4.8) it sounds much better and can compete with others - especially if you don't like much treble.

Still nowhere near to Zvx Pro (imo).

Thank you for these. They'll be my next KZ. Might get a Dawn as well for the heck of it. Apparently they're a no frills saga with extra bass.
Also there were KZ Orion which is... disappeared right after release

Followed that Ali link to check them out. Then searched Ali again to see if there's better prices... sorry no results. Never change Ali

I have mentioned these before but here we go again: in my opinion every PRX owner should try these tips.

For me it makes the PRX magical. The sound just.. is. It's just there like it would be from the instrument you are listening to. Home videos from your toddler? I get confused, is it the video or is she talking to me in the room? Chamber music - did the band come to my place to play? Jazz - is the drum stick hitting the swingy ride cymbal right next to my ear?

I can only copy affiliate links from my Aliexpress app so I'll just leave this picture here to aid in your search, so you'll have no reason to think I am just advertising stuff.

Not an expensive experiment.

I really like DUNU S&S tips on my PRX but if I could actually find these and they were uber cheap I'd probably give them a try.
