Kiwi Ears IEM Thread

I cannot comment otherwise than from an audiophiles perspective, but anyway:

The Quartet sounds very good but is pretty large, but the dip sides are very effective and would make it possible for you to find tune the sound.

The Cadenza is quite small and has a slightly laid back sound profile that would make guitars sound un-raspy.

I have the SE425 and it is very midrange oriented. How did you like that?
I like the 425 well enough but as16 offer better low end IMO and i like to hear bass guitar well.
Wonder if kiwis are better than as16 but i guess better is subjective

I can't give enough appreciation for the Orchestra Lite.
I think it's the IEM that finally made me a believer in IEMs.

I recently published a review on it if anyone's interested.

More to the point, I thought it was the perfect upgrade for the Final E4000.

(Orange = Orchestra Lite - average graph)

I found they have very similar tone and frequency responses, but I couldn't get the E4000 to fit properly.
At the slightest movement, it always just wants to fall out.
Despite the slightly less neutral graph (on paper), I thought the Orchestra Lite sounded incredibly natural and 'open'.
It was one of the very best IEMs I heard over the weekend at CanJam London.

Amazingly, it even fit my ears perfectly!

The Kiwi Ears KE4 is just one of the more understated sets that despite having that 'JM-1' tonality, it seems to be more balanced than the other sets following the same tuning curve. I just love it and can't recommend enough as my $199 set of choice. Sharing my impressions here - https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/kiwi-ears-ke4.27504/review/35536/

and also a mini feature on the Allegro Mini here as well. If all you need is an everyday pocketable DAC/amp adaptet then the Allegro Mini is all you need - https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/kiwi-ears-allegro-mini.27505/review/35538/

Review for Kiwi ears KE4!

https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/kiwi-ears-ke4.27504/reviews#item-review-35561

I would chose this for guitar in how the guitar timbre is really really good.
Hi.

I’m new to this forum and totally not an audiophile 😁

I’m a musician (guitarist) and looking for cheap ciem-s to use in live setting (not going to use them to listen to music).

I’ve used Cosmic Ears 2 driver ciem’s before and I really enjoyed the solid fit (until one stopped working).
Also used shure 215 and 425, last year or so have been using KZ AS16 pro.
I like them (a lot for the money) but they’re quite large for my ears and the guitar sounds a bit agressive/raspy in them.

Does anybody have experience with Kiwi Quartet iems in this context? Would they be good for live monitoring?

Also, has anybody ordered customs from kiwi? There is one review and it’s not good at all.

If anybody has thoughts on Quartet vs as16 that would also be helpful

I’m normally a headphone guy, but am exploring IEM’s… and I was enamored with the Kiwi Ears Canta for all of a day … then my brother, who was visiting for his birthday heard it, and he kept listening and listening and listening… until I recognized I had to give them to him.

Needless to say, I did order another pair from Linsoul’s official store on eBay, and waiting for them to come in, but I decided to try something very different from them in terms of sound signature — the KE4, ordered this one from Amazon yesterday and put them in my ear holes for the first time a few hours ago and… WOW, they are quite different from the Canta, but I ALSO love these as well… there’s bass growl and these are a set I can turn up a little louder for them to really expand into a big set of head-speakers.

I’m loving them for sure.

Thank you to you all who recently replied to this thread. Now I am really interested in purchasing the KE4.
They're a great set with a slight caveat. The driver flex was notable on my first unit but since I bought it from Amazon, it was easy to purchase a new unit and return the old pair. Second pair didn't have the driver flex. Even with the driver flex, there was no noticeable degradation in the sound but it did bother me to hear it after putting them in my ear every time.

Just think for a second, this Allegro Mini is only $10 with the KE4? What? True synergy with the KZ AS24Pro and SIMGOR AUDIO LC7 cable in modular 4.4mm? Using Kiwi ears new tips too! The new $14.99 Flex ear-tips............this is complete win, that's all I"m going to say. And sure you could use a phone instead of the HiBy R3 II, the only thing is the Allegro Mini is a little wiggly side-to-side? And.........yes I'm comparing the Allegro Mini to the Apple Dongle in my coming review!
