Hmmm, thats hard to say. As good as a D5000 maybe, but not better. K701, same level, not better, except bass. Well, you just made me very curious. I might get them. Thanks :)

I would regard the Kenwoods as better than both of those - they have better extension and low-end than the K701 (and aren't as abnormally large in the soundstage), and are less tubby/boomy than the Denons (with a more 3D soundstage). Sure, I might be overly dismissive towards rapper cans, but I've yet to try one that can both produce good bass and that has a soundstage of any size. I'm also fairly turned off to AKG after some of their recent releases and the overall Harmonization.

I will try to buy them this week. Oh, and I missed your previous post. Yes, I've heard the AKGs you mentioned as well as the Sennheiser HD600.

The K1000 will be most similar to the HD 600. Less veiled/dark, more bass impact, better soundstage, and you've basically got'em (they're also a bit different through the midrange and with voicing, mostly as a result of the different soundstaging). :)

I'm looking to grab a pair of these to replace my AKG K550s if anyone is on the fence about selling...

Probably should have purchased these the first time around but I wanted to see what slightly warm of "accurate" was supposed to sound like with the K550s.
