I believe the new headband that is leather-wrapped largely fixes the issue. When I owned a pair I just bought a generic headband cover on Amazon that also relieved the microphonics problem.

Can anyone here please help me better understand the other ear pad options? I have a Thror and a Wodan coming my way both with ECL01 pads installed. I’m planning to buy ECL02 or ECL03 pads to experiment with tweaking the bass. What’s the difference between 02 and 03? Anyone know? Website says both enhance the bass. Also should I go for memory foam over standard high density foam? Is it a comfort thing only or does it also further impact the sound?

ECL01 is the worst, little bass, midbass and punch. many tall. similar to ecl02. ecl03 is the best, most musical. brings the bass, punch, so that the details are preserved. buy only ecl03, everything else is a waste of money. I have all three, I know. Can anyone here please help me better understand the other ear pad options? I have a Thror and a Wodan coming my way both with ECL01 pads installed. I appreciate the input. So you don't feel that ECL02 improves much over the ECL01? But ECL03 improves drastically?ECL01 is the worst, little bass, midbass and punch. many tall. similar to ecl02. ecl03 is the best, most musical. brings the bass, punch, so that the details are preserved. buy only ecl03, everything else is a waste of money. Do you feel that's the best pad for all Kennertons? I have an LSA Diamond, Thror, and Wodan (Thror and Wodan on the way). All have ECL-01 pads. Shipping from Russia is unfortunately $100 so I just want to buy as many pads as I'm going to need for everything. It's hard to guage how many pads I actually need lol.just buy ecl-03mf

of course notDo you feel that's the best pad for all Kennertons?
must be tested for each model
ecl 01 perforated with 1 mm holes
ecl 02 — 0.5 mm, so you get +dB for bass region
ecl 03 are not perforated at all
i would test ecl-02, ecl-01 mf (with memory foam), ecl-03
although I think that ecl-01 mf is enough

I'm glad you said it. My LSA Diamond had ECL01 pads on it and I think they sound amazing. They actually sound very very balanced, natural, and wonderful. I would not call them bass shy or lacking at all. On the ocntrary, the bass sounds very natural, coherent, balanced, and well intended in the mix. I'm still curious to hear the other pads but I love how the LSA sounds with the ECL01 pad.. it works really great IMO.what? balanced is not equal worst
Have you tried the ECL02 or ECL03 by chance? If so, could you chime in on your opinion?

Sounds like I should reach out to Kennerton and ask their thoughts on how each of my headphones might perform best with each pad.. Or I could just buy one of each and start experimenting.. sigh.of course not

Would you happen to know how the sound changes with ECL01 non-memory foam vs ECL01 memory foam?

ask for money back or start with ecl-01 mfOr I could just buy one of each and start experimenting..
ecl-01 vs ecl-01 mf
+ body
+ bass
+ tembre
+ richer and more intimate presentation
- air
- maybe the soundstage will be less voluminous

@XGeneX88 I checked with one of the Kennerton guys for you, and he also advised me to try ECL-01 MF or ECL-02 for Thror / Wodan

Thank You! I may order 1 of each in that case... maybe an ECL-03 as well =) I may really just try 1 of each.. might be the only way to really find out which pad I enjoy the most on each headphone.@XGeneX88 I checked with one of the Kennerton guys for you, and he also advised me to try ECL-01 MF or ECL-02 for Thror / Wodan
Are the pads fairly easy to swap? Not something I've tried to do yet.
