I'm thinking about my next adventure, and I've been eyeing the HLD for quite a while.
I was thinking of getting those after hearing about them here, but I'm afraid that it won't add much to my lineup and would just sit in the drawer like my LCD-X that I don't use anymore.

They are not priced as high as Kennerton top planar models, and that made me think - maybe it's just a mid level headphones that isn't on par with their top planar offerings. Maybe it will be just OK and it won't hold its own against the Rognir and HLP. Is there really room for all of them, or will getting HLD be redundant.

Any thought or advice?

As far as I'm aware, the HLD/HLP are 2 headphones not many people have heard on this thread.

How is the Odin? Does it offer anything the new models don't?
Hmm....quite interesting indeed. I wonder how it sounds compares to the Odin 2019 version vs Odin MK2 version. From observation each time Kennerton updates its model, it sounds somewhat different despite the marketing description of it remaining as close as possible to the original sound. The Odin 2019 version I had sounds much more similar to the Thridi/Mk3 than the intimate airy sound of the MK2. To date I still go back and listen to the Mk2 version than the newer stuff despite have lower technicalities and soundstage. Something about that tuning makes me so emotionally involved w/ the music i'm listening to...

Odin Heritage

This is more of an anniversary model, which except for the cups design and name has nothing to do with the previous Odin models. The sound presentation is more similar to the HLD, but has a different kind of bass and better elaboration in the upper frequency range

My review will be ready when I am ready

So these are your new favorite Kennerton?
will see

or is this an unlisted version?
Odin Heritage is available in one color only - jet black (burnt wood), there's also ear pads with a new type of leather, a fancy leather pouch, a custom 6.3 cable

I'll show everything in detail later.

Well, how is it then @fullbass ?
You had me thinking about the HLD but you triggered my curiosity with the Odin. Can it compete with their top Planars Iike the Rognir?

Sorry, I'm busy right now. In short, if you like a dark sound (with proper tonal balance on the highs and opened back cups), I'd rather buy the Odin H than the Rognir P. Especially for metal, electronics, jazz. Perhaps Rognir has better resolution, but loses out on the midrange, which is cleaner, more transparent in Odin. Odin also has a huge bass, oriented to the sub-bass, not the mid-bass. The design of the Odin H is much better than the Rognir. But by the way, the weight of the Odin is also greater.

HLD are more balanced than OH. They have a different audio presentation. OH has larger images, fatter timbres, an encompassing surround stage. The soundstage in the HLD is more forward, and lower in height. But the HLD has more treble, and seems more versatile to me. But I don't like dark headphones. If you don't have a problem with that, then the Odin will be preferable.
