Thank you gbeast for this 3rd review of the Kennerton Odin written in english (after these two reviews already made on HF: links : http://www.head-fi.org/products/kennerton-odin/reviews/17108 and http://www.head-fi.org/products/kennerton-odin/reviews/17444, and the many other French-language reviews on the Kernerton Odin that can be consulted at this link: http://www.head-fi.org/t/791653/kennerton-odin-listening-impressions#post_12173077, not to mention the review in russian of this superb Odin, in Karelian birch, by cleg : https://hi-news.ru/audio/obzor-naushnikov-kennerton-odin-teper-i-iz-drevesiny-iggdrasilya.html).

Ok with you to say that the price of the Odin is overpriced, but it is not the only one to be overpriced.

If the price of the Kennerton Odin was to be 1500 $ USD (instead of 2450), then the price of the HE-1000 V2 should also be 1,500 $ USD (instead of 3000); The price of the Kennerton Vali at 700 $ USD (instead of 990); The LCD4 price to 2000 $ USD (instead of 4000) and the Focal Utopia price to 2000 $ USD (instead of 4000).

Unfortunately, this is not the case for all these very good headphones, and prices remain too high.

Hello I made this point in my review and just stated that I am not happy with the trend. I agree.

"My babies" .... two Odin ?

What do you think of the new pads (V2) of the Odin compared to the V1?

No, mine are on the right. One pair is enough for me.
The pic just shows the headband difference.
As per pads, I need more time to form my impression. As per now I can't say I hear any difference in sound.

Okay, one pair is enough.
If you notice differences in the sound between the two ear-pads (V1 vs V2), feel free to give your impressions.

The new ear pads (V2) of the Odin would be more comfortable than those of the first version; But I find the old pads particulary good for the sound with my two Odin, although I also own a new pair of pads V2.
A question of habit, perhaps, already accustomed to the sound "Old school" of the old ear-pads V1 ...

Hmmmmm I find the V1 pad more comfortable for me. Don't know for sure, have to A/B them again some times. Just from memory (haven't listened to my V1 Odin for over a week).

Maybe just they are more broken-in compared to the V2 pads. (Well, my V1 Odin should still have hundreds of hours more head-time than both of my V2).

Yeah, that is likely the case.

For V1 pads (first version) (slightly bigger for the internal orifice than that of the new pads V2), and for V2 pads with leather "broken-in" (softened)) who would be a little more flexible than those of the first V1 pads, especially if not "broken-in" ; in fact, the comfort of these two pads V1 and V2 depends on 95% of the very precise adjustment of this ear-pads on the head, at some fractions of degrees of inclination and mm in placement, all the way, including in rotation (rotation of the anterior seam of the ear-pads that are asymmetric), and also the placement of the headband on the head (more or less centered, from front to back, on the top of the skull), and also the spacing of the ear-pads and clamping force.

The comfort of the Odin must be earned!
All these settings must be very precise.
But it's worth it.

EDIT : Kennerton Odin pads : Old (V1) (right, black) and new (V2) (left, here in brown color) in photo.

And a last picture of the V2 pads taken this morning, presented on a metallic orange luxury support ...

Hi, all.

After the instructive review by gbeast of the Kennerton Odin, one of the least boring (planar) headphones of the market, favoring lightly the midrange, but also, one of the most resolute, precise and dynamic orthodynamic headphones, with a very high tonal richness (and also with weight and matter), an excellent transient speed, good attacks, and lastly and above all, a very good natural and realism in rendering of the sound.

And well, on the same site, we can also read this very interesting review of the Kennerton Vali confronted with a sizeable opponent, the Focal Elear.
Who will have the preference of the author in the end? and why ?
