Enjoying this thread. Bought mine a few months ago and stopped searching headphones. Like when you find a pair of speakers that you just love the way they sound, you find happiness, and you’re good-to-go.
I’ve run mine with an XDuoo tube hybrid and Schitt Asgard 3 solid state. Awesome in both.
Have a Topping A90 on the way, which has a true balanced out. Considering a Kennerton balanced cable to use this output.
Anyone gone balanced with the LSA’s?

Greetings, I too have the HP-2' and loving them. I have a couple of balanced cables (budget cables see below), and they serve their purpose well. I also have a brand new WyWires Balanced cable (1.2m) never opened and prob. won't either as I am using the SE-3.5 out on my Cayin N3Pro for the "tube-like" sound and enjoying that signature. I was using the boutique budget custom cable (from Fog City Audio for $90) for the 4.4 balanced out with my HIBY R5s (now gone) and there was a definite increase in overall performance and even so with the Cayin too. So, after the ramble, you can enjoy the gains in overall performance with a balanced cable. Enjoy them...

Appreciate the input. I too have some Grados. Alas, those shall remain single ended forever. Do have a Sivga Planar already balanced, so cabling the HP-2 Ultras seems the good direction to get the best from the A90. Thanks.
Tried mine with a new amp this week, a Little Dot MK9. After ten days straight I had been finding it a bit too thick and bassy with my Grado's and Elex's. The HP-2's sounded more "open". Then I got some new drive tubes and it really opened up. Maybe too much. I ended up going back to the stock tube and I do love the combo.
There is NO amp that doesn't sound good with these headphones! At least not in my collection.
It's been a while since I've listened to my HP2 and I'm really enjoying them at the moment. They're such a detailed headphone so when I'm in the mood to hear every little note these need to be my go to at the moment, I do wish they had a bit more bass but it's nothing a little Eq'ing can't fix.

Got an early start on the long weekend as the boss let me leave early. I decided to pull out the HP-2's and plug them into my Violectric V220. Sounds Very nice, but I must admit that I am always fighting the urge to plug into the iFi Pro iCAN.
