It could be the reflection of the 900.  Very interested in the 2000.

I was going more by the second picture, but then dark colors are difficult to make out on monitors. Either way, the cups do appear lacquered and are quite a bit different than what I was expecting. The renders from JVC make them look like they're painted matte.

This is another shot of DX2000 and its cup I took with better camera.

the cup is very similar to the dx-1000. i know perfectly because i had two modded.
for this reason, the dx-2000 has a new driver??? you confirm this?

The representative of JVC in my country informed me that this is the first time they use birch wood for making drivers (diaphragm) which is different wood than DX1000. They also use birch wood for their new flagship in ear, FX800.

Actually I'm quite not sure about what they told me because the guy who informed this is not confident on his statement. So I asked them to ask JVC Japan again how different between DX1000 and DX2000 in specific details.

Like MuppetFace, DX1000 didn't blow me away at all when I first listened to it. But it might be because my system has upgraded so much and it makes DX2000 shines the way better than what I experienced with DX1000.

Anyway, I will keep you guys an update once I know more information on this.

@business_jj:

Some parts between the cups and the headband (what do you call the main part: gimbal, fork?) on the Victor HP-DX1000 are(/seems to be) plastic and are known to be fragile.

Are (some of) the(se) parts of JVC HP-DX2000 still fragile plastic, or are they more robust?
