JVC HAR-X700 and 900. Two of the best dynamics? Am I nuts?

Have either the RX700 or RX900 come in stock anywhere since a week ago? I gave up looking for them since it seemed pretty obvious to me that they were discontinued.

Not yet, but I'm going to wait a few more weeks before giving up. Amazon gives the impression more are on the way, so we'll see if my order ever ships!

I just got my RX 700 today (used, sorry) and its a really fine phone. I can compare it only to the Beyer 880 and although its not as good, its a better bang for the buck. Sounds very good and is built well, too.

Hope they´ll continue them.

damn you head-fi, got me another wonderful phone!
after 100 aging hours(with pink noise) , my d2000 is going on yahoo auction in a week
d2000 is definitely better but the rx700 gets it job done with less than 20% of the price
so this thread deserves a bump !
perfect for any kind of rock ,hip hop, pop musice!

I took off the felt completely.. well.. almost. I got 1/4th of the felt completely off (since it was loose) but I had to poke through the felt in the driver holes because the rest of the felt was glued on the driver. So, it's practically like removing the felt, as the holes weren't covered by the felt.

It seemed the bass got more tamed and even less over powering. It sounds great. Not that much of a big improvement over taking off a layer of felt, but I can tell the sound has changed - and for the better.

Buy.com stopped taking orders for the rx700/900 about a week ago. I got my order in and it still says "Processing - On Order". Amazon actually changed their estimate from 2 to 5 weeks to 2 to 4 weeks, whatever that means. My order with them is still pending, and the fact that they are still accepting orders is hopefully a good sign.

Amazon just changed their estimate back to "2 to 5 weeks". I'm not sure if this is determined by news from the supplier, or if it's just automatically adjusted based on the # of pending orders.

I'm just going to try to forget about it... then it will be a nice surprise if they show up someday.

Whatever you do, DON"T order from techdepotcanada.com if you live in Canada. Worst damn customer service ever. They never told me the headphones were backordered, just "I promise you they'll be shipping next week". This has gone on for a month and a half.

After a month had elapsed, they decided to take my paypal money despite not shipping my item. Now I'm fighting to get it back.
