I just got home from office and the FX40 is right in front of me now.
Put in ear, the first song.
HOLY... THAT VOCAL! so forward.
I like it, but i want the vocal sound tighter, will burn in do the trick?

UPS left 'em on my porch today. Don't sound half bad especially considering they've been sitting in 8 degree temps for at least 6 hours (and who knows how long on the truck).

Yup, me too. Hey, there was a little sticker on the package that said "Optimize your sound for free!" and had a free app from JVC called sonicmax. Anyone tried it?

Got mine today. Pretty amazing for the price. I can certainly see this sound sig not being for everyone, though. They are pretty bright, but from memory I would put them in the same ballpark as some TF10s I had. I only had the TFs for a couple of days, and sold them because of the slightly harsh highs. But unlike the BA TF10, these have a chance to settle down after some break in hours.

Am I really comparing a $300 IEM to a $20 one? Crazy. But then, I was never a fan of the TF10.

Pulled the plug and finally ordered a black pair. Although I love my se215's as my daily, I always wanted something a little more bass heavy. All the reviews and hype did it enough for me. Can't wait to get them.

 SE215 has much better bass.

Just got the FX40 and am enjoying them.
They have improved quite a bit with burn in, probably around 120 hours so far with the burn, I feel they still need more but money well spent for sure.
