What I really dislike about the 660S2 in games now, is the fact that it is too intimate. For music it is great but in gaming, I want that immersion of being in a different world and a sense of space which the 660S2 just can not really deliver. The X2 do a way better job at this and gives a bigger perception of space. Not sure if this is what people define as "soundstage"?
Because of that I ordered the Hifiman Edition XS now. From reviews i heard that it is supposedly having a very wide soundstage and better imaging which hopefully deliver what the 660S2 are missing in games at least.
I also read reviews about the ATH-R70X but none of them was convincing enough that these are actually a pair of headphones which deliver phenomenal sound for their price bracket.
