I just ordered the Audio Technica AD700 from newegg.com for $103.99. I purchased them to replace my Sennheiser HD555. They should arrive by Monday at the latest so I will let you know what I think of them as well as how they compare to the Sennheiser HD555 and Grado SR60 when they arrive. I cant wait to try them out.

They will be delivered either Friday or Tuesday depending on whether they ship today or tomorrow. Too bad UPS wont deliver on Monday due to Martin Luther King day.

I have the a700's (closed back). I absolutely love them, but watch out for some slightly recessed mids (or tell me if the ad700's are different).

i just ordered the AD700's just now! free 3 day shipping from newegg, but grrr sales tax. i hope its not too big for my small head and i hope i'll be very happy soon =D *prepares to look ridiculous with huge pimpin' purple cans on the sides of my head*

It is much better than HD555. I also found them to be better than HD595 as all-around can. If you are into vocals, then probably HD595 wins. Anyway, no chances for HD555.

x2 that HD555 has no chance, but I believe the AD700 trumps the HD595 in all regards too

How do the AD700 compare to the Grado SR60s? I own SR60s and as much as I love them, I'm looking for more.

It is huge, so it's more

AD700 does have soundstage at least. Bass is deeper. Overall sound is smoother, while it is fast and detailed. AD700 is all-arounder, while SR60 is not well-suited for some genres.
