I just got my first pair of headphones, the beyerdynamic custom one, how long will burn in time take? The phone I am using has a built equalizer Nokia Lumia 920 if that helps.

Hi, my opinion is that after a few minutes of use the drivers should be at their prime. That's been my experience anyway.

I think it is a matter of you getting used to the headphones and the headphones getting adjusted to you  . so I would say about 50-100 hours of use.

Good headphones. They sound better than you think.
 
The problem is your source. You're using a phone. And that means you're (1) probably using low bitrate compressed music, and (2) utilizing a rather lower quality chipset in the phone for both your DAC and light amplification output needs. Do yourself a favor and get higher quality music, lossless if possible, or at least much higher bit rate and quality compression (eg, LAME codec MP3 for example). And then also consider simply getting yourself a discreet DAP, like a Sansa Fuze or Clip.
 
Burn in will change nothing. It's a psychological ritual.

Just enjoy the cans and forget about "burn in". It happens all by itself.
