I bought it off someone from here if that matters for anything, so it isn't new. The previous owner said he owned it for about a year, not sure on the playtime though. My set-up is far from extraordinary, but I can't really blame it on that quite yet. Running some Sennheiser HD 280 Pros and a 16GB Zune HD -- I haven't hooked it up to computer quite yet since I'd have to tear through a jungle of cables, but inside that is a HT Omega Striker soundcard. The computer will be my main listening station, I just hooked it up to the Zune for convenience sake.
In any case, I plugged the headphones into the amp and the amp to my Zune. I turned the Zune volume all the way up and used the amp to control the volume. Sound came through, but I could hardly hear any of the vocals for any song (and things sounded slightly odd outside of that). Is this just the because of the Zune or is my amplifier faulty? I'll update this after I try it out from my computer.
UPDATE: Just tried running it from the sound card. No luck. It also had the bonus gift of killing ALL sound for my system on Windows for some reason. Things were normal on my Linux install for some reason, but Windows was pissed. Anyways, not sure what as happened, but that's fixed, so back to the amp. I am COMPLETELY new to this so I'm guessing I royally screwed something up. I'm thinking I don't have the right cables? Besides the power cable, the amp only came with some cable that is red and white on one end and uncoloured on the other (no idea what it is called). The red/white ends go into the back of the amp, I get that, and I tried plugging the other end into my Striker's 'Line In' since that's the only thing it would go into. I'm guessing that's my problem, I need 'Line Out', or no? There is a SPDIF Out but I'm not sure if that's what I want/need and if so, what cable I would need to connect all of this together. Help on this and the general amp question would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
