JQ Audio Impressions Thread

Nice to see that there are more tribrids slowly being released!
I think i need to try out another tribrid, i wasn't sure what to expect from the JQ Hua Jiang, but in my oppinion, they are very bad, even more so considering the price.
Sorry to hear that. That stinks that they’re not what you like, especially at that price.

In my oppinnion, the JQ Hua Jiang, makes no sense, considering it's a tribrid with 2EST + 6BA + 1DD.

Bass: The JQ Hua Jiang has no bass. I'm saying this, and i'm no basshead. It's almost impossible for me to believe that this has 1DD. I owe the Audiosense T800, Audiosense AQ3, BGVP DM6. And of all three of these IEMS, two of them being BA only IEMs, they all have more bass presence than the JQ Hua Jiang. From the IEMs that i own, the order of IEMS with the most bass presense would be Audiosense T800 -> BGVP DM6 -> Audiosense AQ3 -> JQ Hua Jiang -> Vsonic VS7. I've also went through a lot of tip rolling and gave the JQ Hua Jiang plenty of burn-in time, however, the bass stayed exactly the same as it was.

Mids: Female vocals sound shouty and the male vocals are really far behind in the back. Out of all the IEM that i own, the male vocals on the JQ Hua Jiang are the most furthest in the back.

Treble: They sound pretty airy with their extended treble! But they also sound very harsh (3k is very harsh on these)

Soundstage: The soundstage on these are average, not much to say. Out of all the IEM that i own, the order with the most soundstage would be Audiosense T800 -> JQ Hua Jiang -> Audiosense AQ3 -> BGVP DM6 -> Vsonic VS7

The resolution on these are really good, but the seperation is pretty aweful.

I've been actively using the JQ Hua Jiang for about a week now, and have gone through several tip rolling/different cables.
DAPs/DAC used were the iBasso DX160(v2020), Fiio M11 and E1DA 9038S

Conclusion: If i were given these to listen to while blindfolded, i would A: Never had guessed these had 1 DD, and B: would have estimated these to cost around $280-300.
Best part of the JQ Hua Jiang for me was the unboxing experience.

Well... if you actually compare graph with JQ HJ and T800 or DM6, they both have larger 200hz and below, which will give u more bass.
I assume JQ HJ was never tuned for anything bass related, and not all DD is tuned to give u the boom, even a minor boom ;)
Further looking at the graph they have pretty normal 3k (for me), but compare to DM6 (iem with very little mid presentation), then sure it would def have upper mid peak

That's super unfortunate :( but let hope next iem u venture to wont disappoint u :D

@wayofthedawn, you did all the appropriate things, by giving then time, and tip rolling. Do you happen to have a friend nearby that is also an IEM enthusiast? Maybe it would be beneficial to have someone else listen to them, and find out what they hear? Not that what you’re hearing is in any way “wrong”, especially as it pertains to you, which is the most important. But if I were in you shoes, I would really like corroboration, with those specific units.

If if is simply not to your liking, but others like it a lot, it will be easier to sell. Again, sorry you don’t like them.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've actually let two friends (one from which i borrowed Fiio M11), who are both IEM enthusiasts listen to the JQ, and they both agreed with me. (Sadly)

Thanks for the information! Sadly i don't have the Aet07, but per your suggestion, i have just ordered them!
I do have a lot of tips though, which i did all try. Spinfit,Comply, JVC Spiral Dot,Double/Triple Flange, Wide/Small bore, Silicon/Foams.

I'll visit an audioshop soon, and will try the IEMs out with different sources there.
Thanks for the input and suggestions everyone, greatly appreciated!

symbio without foam tip also ok. You need to have correct cable. coz jq is airy less weight a copper should be decent. but i use less weight cable sound is still acceptable. jq soundstage and depth is crazy. good.

Really confused as I have both DM6 and JQ and the bass is very well present with a lot of reach . Genres like Hip Hop shine with it and the transition to Indie with good chords and vocals show its other attributes. Using soin fit and Dunu Hulk

Well i feel really dumb now. I've been using the JQ Hua Jiang mainly with my iBasso DX160, and on my iBasso i've been using the Mango Player.
An very awesome person on Head Fi informed me that the Mango Player is actually not a good player and that i should try the Poweramp player.

I've installed the Poweramp player and....... well my jaw dropped, The JQ Hua Jiang sounds completely different than before!
Everything i said before about the JQ Hua Jiang is no longer how i think and feel about them, the JQ Hua Jiang sound AMAZING!
I never knew that the player on your DAP could make sure an massive difference!
The JQ Hua Jiang, are by far the best IEM i've owned, these serieusly put a big smile on my face while listening to them.
Also a big thank you to everyone for their input, advice and general help!

Picture included, because, why not!

It shouldn't make that big a difference unless you're doing something wrong somewhere. Are you sure you have the EQ and L/R Balance setting OFF in Mango? Did you try resetting Mango player from the Applications settings?

Yeah i've resetted the Mango player, everything looks good, i've resetted the Mango player twice, and even did a device reset twice, so i have no idea what's going on with the Mango player, but i won't be using it anymore for sure.
