JH-3A SIGHTINGS in the WILD

I have one ordered but am waiting to send back my original unit to JH Audio for a replacement unit whenever the next set of amps comes in.

I do have a Whiplash for my JH13s and I really like the combination of of the IEM and cable (using iMod 5.5 and Pico Slim).

I am currently breaking in a Revelation Audio Labs DualConduit USB cable right now.  The only thing I haven't upgraded at this point is the cable running from the IEM.  I wonder how far I can get the JH3A to go sonically.

I am going to use this cable for a solid week or two before I do a blind test with the cheapo USB cable.  Not sold on expensive USB cables yet.

Hello all, I'm a first time poster but I've been prowling these forums for awhile now.

I wanted to get an impression from JH-3A owners on how a JH-16 balanced with say an SR71b would compare to the JH-3A. I've been looking through the various threads but there seems to be a lack of reviews/impressions/comparisons of the JH-3A unit.

When I purchased my JH16 I toyed with the idea of getting the JH-3A combo, but was put off by the delays and a lack of info on what was going on.

Thanks in advance.

Interesting choice, why you choosed this usb cable over Acoustic Revive, which is similiar constrcution, but I think little cheaper and seems much better build?

Also how do you like JK MK3?

ABrockwell: In my opinion, most owners, me included, are just happy with JH-3A and are enjoying it. I think lack of any reviews is caused by really negativ and aggressive behaviour of many head-fi users in JH-3A threads. And owners of JH-3A dont want to waste their time for people like that.

I didn’t do a lot of research before buying a USB cable.  I am not sure if I came across the Acoustic Revive cable or not.  I was close to buying a WyWires USB cable until I saw someone using a Revelation Audio Labs cable instead.  I found a good deal on one so I decided to try it out.

What do you think about your WireWorld USB cable?  I use to own the Starlight when I ran an Audio-Gd DAC.

I need to create a safe method for comparing the system before and after a change.  Many would find flaws with the lack of order I take in doing it now.  I hope to figure out a test and report back within the next week if I find the MK3 to be a good value in my system.

The JH-3a - JH-16 has so much detail and slamming bass!  It truly is amazing.

That probably wouldn't do to much unless you were getting some kind ground loop from the AC charger.  Its been through so many revisions I don't even know if that's actually possible though.

Does it charge from AC while playing over USB and does the charger even have a ground pin (ie a 3 prong plug)?  If the answer to either of those is "no" I wouldn't expect it to help much.

If the JH3A's power filtering is particularly bad or your PC's USB ports are especially noisy it could help.  If you don't hear differences between different computers or the same laptop with and without it being plugged in to the wall (since the power supply has more noise than the battery) then it probably won't help at all.
