Can't see the phones in that shot, what? You dig that DJ, that's what it is right?

DJs seem to have a reputation of using phones that sound like crud when you try to get down and listen to *music* with them

You mean the DJs being ignorant about their choice of phones?

No way that's going to work

btw @ braver
imo the hd25sp distort too much when cranking up the volume...they just cant stand some trippin bass attacks

...right then it´s the moment when the sony comes into focus and massages my ears *har*

...nevertheless the 25sp is nice at "moderate" vol-levels

peace

Never said they aren't

Oops

I guess I sort of implied that they were

But that's not what I mean

I said this thing about DJs having the reputation of blah blah blah becoz there's supposed to be so many of them using Sony Vx00DJ's and all the stories about them getting *paid* sooo much by Sony just for using them so that people would think they're good...

When people test the sonic characteristics of headphones, how is accuracy determined? Wouldn't you have to compare the actual frequency of the instrument played to the one reproduced in the headphone? If so, the human ear is supposidly only able to discern frequencies between 20Hz-22Khz or so, but you can feel bass and such at lower frequencies... A DJs concern would most likely be to feel those synthesized beats that they create, so these specialized headphones are probably more helpful to them than a typical audiophile setup.

But how do you determine true accuracy?

the sennheisers are not distorting, your amp is. you're taking your amp too high with a pair of headphones that are already very sensitive. My reccomendation: get yourself fitted for a pair of hearing aids now. you'll need them in the future.

Be sure to get purple lipstick of you get the Technics. I'm convinced they wouldn't be fashionable without the purple.
