I found an old pair of Atrio's in a drawer but the cable is so stiff which makes it difficult to use the IEMs and microphonics are made 10 times worse.
 
Is there anything I could run on the cable to get it soft again, like it was originally?

Rub it really hard. If it doesn't work try using your mouth.

Cable harden when the plasticizer inside is gone. Nothing you can do to bring them back.

can try diluted bleach, works on car tires for drag racing but depends on rubber compound... prob do it as last resort.
