Is the midrange of the DT 770 *really* that bad?

Because by plugging that hole, the headphones are effectively completely sealed. This lowers bass output, which may increase the "perceived" amoung of midrange.

Plugging that hole makes the DT770s sound incredibly nasal, IMO.
