hi.. i have 2 iems, brainwavz m5 and the sony-mh1c.. i love both of them, and honestly though mh1c sounds better, but i wear the m5 more. maybe because of the comfort that the comply tips provide. anyway i wanted to step up and had decided to go for the re-400. i read reviews and got that they are really really awesome in the mids and highs but may sound lacking bass even if one isnt a basshead [according to some reviews]. now i would wanna ask how they would sound compared to m5 or mh1c especially in the 'lows' section

apart from that i would really appreciate other possibilities besides re-400. and my preferences would be in descending order of importance:
0. universal [i have an android and a windows operating system and no ios
1. sound [an upgrade to m5 and mh1c like sigs]
2. comfort which includes the tips as i told about the m5. mh1c are not comfortable- period
3. isolation: just the part that there's no sound leakage, otherwise i really dont mind hearing that bus horn on my way
4. build
5. microphonics

the price should strictly be within 100$. i have read the foll. thread:
http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-314-iems-compared-olasonic-flat-4-nami-added-04-13-14-p-894
&

and i would say no to etymotic hf5, shure se215, monster turbine etc. because they though they are listed at 100$, i am getting them at double their prices here in india.

P.S.: before i saw re-400, i was looking to buy vsonic vc02. would appreciate a hint at this too!

thanks a lot everyone. i am asking too many questions at a time- sry for that; but really thanks to

The RE-400 would make your m5 and mh1c sound overly bass-heavy or muddy. A hit or miss thing really, a very risky choice. I would recommend the rha ma750 or vsonic gr07.

thanks.. but the rha ma750 isnt available here.. even if i import it, it would cost near double the amount due to customs. same goes for the gr07. and if the re-400 wont be good for me then i think its the same for a pair of vc02!!
damn.. isnt there anything we can buy at a reasonable price in india!!??

umm, what about sony xba-h1 hybrid? are they actually worth a 100 dollars? cuz i get em at the same price as the re-400

I dont think there is anything better than the he400 or v sonic vc02. I think you should just pull the trigger on one of those.

The only other earbud i can think of is the phillips fidelio s1

there are many versions of it.. i guess u are talking about Xiaomi Pistons 2.0 MK301. but would they be an upgrade to the ones i already have? or more of an equivalent?

and what about gr07? which version of it?? classic or pro mk2?.. i just found them on ebay globaleasybuy at 100$

Do they have the gr07 bass edition? That is probably the version you'll like most. They are still mostly neutral so you may not like them.

Try looking up the shure se 215 on there. That is the more "fun" sounding than the gr07 and the ma 750. It also has the most isolation

thanks zunehdrocks!.. i think ill end up with vc02 or re-400 or se-215
though se-215 is the nearest to my m5's and mh1c's, i think they are a bit overpriced here at about 150$
re-400 is the best among em but as many said it would be a risk to buy em
vc02 is cheaper (about 50$) than 400 and therefore the safest choice i have if im going to buy a more neutral sounding earphones and actually deviate from my older iems. but then why not buy the re-400 when its the best in the league!

about the rest, i have no experience buying internationally and seeing that the custom duty would raise the prices further, i guess i would skip on gr07 or ma750 or fidelity s1 or any other for that matter. thanks a lot for the suggestions my friend. a last one.. out of these 3, which would you choose if you liked brainwavz m5? i am not a basshead , i feel the mh1c have higher bass than m5 but i still prefer the m5.

You would probably enjoy the se215 the most even though they are over priced in your location. If you would like to try out a whole new sound signature the vc02s are definitely a good choice.
Can you check the price of the shure se 215 special edition? According to the reviews, they refined everything a bit more sound wise.

Those have world wide shipping. I'm not sure how the global payment thing works on ebay.
