I can't seem to find it's competition and I hear mixed things about the E6. Its to be expected at that price range, but for portability, I would think that maybe an amp out there could be decent around that size. Anyone know what is the E6's competition is?

I have an E6 and I find it to be a perfect amp to power your cans in an environment where a dedicated setup just doesn't make sense (work, commute, travel). I also have a E07K also and tend to use the E6 more when in public. The E6 is just one of those things that should always be in your headphone case, just in case. 
 
If I had to compare it, I would say it's probably comparable with the Altoids Tin DIY Amps and that cheap Clip-on Amp that looks like an iPad Nano that all the generic brands throw their label on (ex. Syba, PYLE, etc).
 
For the money, I think the E6 is the nicest option. Plus, you can use it while charging it!
