is m50 portable enough for school commute ?

I had a xb500, it was huge and i find its huge and very hard to put into school bag with laptop and everything. How about M50. Does the folding mechanism make it smaller than xb500?

no experience with xb500's, but M50's are definitely not small enough for portable use, for me
 
but, some will disagree on that
 
I won't go bigger than ES7,ESW9 f.e.

I use my m50s while doing my commute to school. While it's true that they are quite large, they fold nicely and fit just right into that otherwise useless space at the top of your 'pack. Not quite as portable if you don't have a bag to store them in, but backpacks handle it well enough.

Yes they do. There are a few good cases that fit the m50's well in case you're interested.
