Is it ok to complain about someone playing music too loudly?

You can ask the guy nicely.  If he doesn't respond favorably, that's what store managers are for.  If the manager doesn't want to do anything, let him know that you will be happy to stop spending money in his establishment if he is so unconcerned with the experience of his customers.  Or you can jsut be passive aggressive about it, say nothing while becoming increasingly irritated, and spend the next 4 days thinking about how you'd like to lynch the guy.  :wink:

I would enlighten him on the effects of loud music such as tinnitus, then let him decide what he wants to do from there, if he continues on just remember that he will soon cause permanent damage to his hearing, rendering earbuds useless to him for the rest of his life.
