I think you have a problem if you have a dozen of each type of headphones, IEM's, full size cans etc. After all Hi-Fiers don't have dozen speakers even if they have the room.

Let's see... well, more than a dozen headphones so far. I've got five or six pairs of speakers and working on more.

It is gluttony more than greed. Your aren't necessarily keeping someone from getting a specific headphone, (excluding special editions, limited runs, etc.) since they are massed produced.

Well, hi-fiers that are also movie buffs may have more than 12 speakers for their home theaters, but I'm guessing that wasn't your point.

I don't think I am that greedy. I have been trying to find my perfect cans which I think I did.

I just need the amp and source for my balanced setup and I think I will be pretty much done on my Head-fi journey...at least for a little while

Its kind of like why we invented concorde.

Nobody "needs" a supersonic airliner, but we developed it because we can. We did it because we wanted to push past pre-existing barriers and develop new technologies. We did it to prove there is no boundary to our imagination.

Its the same philosophy in head-fi.

And now the manufacturing is discontinued and they don't fly the plane anymore
