I don't really know how Apple did it, but they brainwashed the hell out of the
market today. First off, the price. This is like the Bose of MP3 player. You can
get a better sound or more features for the half of the price. Second the sound.
To me it has harsh highs and very crappy bass response and the only way to
bypass the sound is Line-Out to a good amplifier. Third, iTunes. I don't know
why but this has been praised a lot and consider others as crap. People probably
got spoiled by the iTunes standard that if you offer them a new one, it's
consider not good as iTunes. FINALLY, THE DAMN MARKET. It's the way how
Bose doing. They flood them with advertisement, inflate the price, make people
think it's the Rolls Royce of everything else, and repeat. I'm really getting
annoyed by this.

I sincerely hope this doesn't become the new thing, we already have bose bashing, which you made a point to include in the original post, and we don't need a new apple bashing fad. Thanks.

Giving your opinion is different than saying something sucks because it doesn't fit your needs. Give us some actual facts ("you can get a better sound or more features for the half of the price") and you'll have a valid argument.

You're trolling and handing out the opinion card. You don't like Apple? Fine. There are people who do. Why should you be bothered by it?

Care to show me an 80GB MP3 player for any cheaper than the iPod? The earlier gen iPods used to be royal rip-offs, but over the last two years they've become reasonably priced and is now one of the only high capacity hard drive players in production in the US. The Zune is currently a gimmicky alternative with somewhat better sound quality and terrible battery life. Show me this superior competition this "Bose of mp3 players" is unjustly outselling.

no proofs to back up your opinion/statement is just plain wrong.

meanwhile, the new Kenwood 60gb DAP is $500usd, but Ipod 160gb holds 2.5 times as much but cost only $350.

and the new B&O BeoSound 6, only has 4gb capacity but costs $800. where as Ipod 4gb cost only $150.

and you called Ipod is 'Bose of mp3 players' I think not.

...I'd be happy to buy a different 160GB mp3 player the size of an iPod for less money.

Link me to the many that must be out there.

EDIT: Yeah, I just saw that someone else posted basically this same thing.

Yes, yes you do. But its not necessary to state your trolling opinion like its the definitive word on the iPod. It wouldn't be nearly as popular on head-fi if it had no redeeming or hi-fi character. The retaliation doesn't exactly help either.
