I'll end it there. I don't want this thread to get OTT. Everyone, have a nice day

No, I got heat because people actually thought the test was of utmost usefulness and that donating money to hurricane relief was not as important as knowing that the nano can be destroyed by throwing it up 40 ft in the air.

You probably want to hit DAPReview for greater info, but if you want your news filtered from iPod posts, you've found a home at AnythingButiPod.

This website is dedicated to individuals that can think for themselves. Individuals that can make a decision based on the facts not what corporations or the media dictates. Individuals that do not need TV to tell them what to do, how to think, or what to buy. This web site present the other options and you make the educated decision. You choose what fits your lifestyle, not a mass-branded lifestyle given to you by someone else.

Think for yourself. Be an individual.

"Think for yourself. Be an individual."

Uh, no thnx. That's a contradiction in and of itself. Wouldn't taking their advice be *gasp* not thinking for myself? I bet it's made by the same people who shop at Hot Topic and listen to Avril to be "different" and wear those stupid "You laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at you because you're all the same" shirts (I'm sorry if you listen to Avril and wear that stupid shirt, =P ).

I got my iPod because it's sexy and I wanted to listen to all my music without swapping CDs each time I wanted to hear a different album. Simple as that. I don't care if millions of others got it for the same reason, and I don't think other people should care why I got it, either.

=\

It seems a bit ludicrous to me to make a site dedicated to slamming Apple and the iPod (both literally and figuratively) and then protest by purchasing iPods, thereby giving Apple money, and then destroying them which lets Apple off the hook for any sort of warranty-type liability for your unit. Way to go, folks.

I don't really care for the iPod, and, I generally won't recommend it if someone asks me to suggest a player that I like. However, I don't dedicate myself to iPod-hate, and I'll still suggest it if it sounds like it matches someone else's criteria the best.

I wonder what OS these people use? Hmm...or what kind of car they drive? Hmm...Is there really a such thing as individuality? Nothing is new under the sun. We're all just followers. Even leaders are followers. I'm not even gonna go there. But the new iPod looks nice. If my 3g wasn't so perfect, I'd buy one. Maybe when it dies I'll get something new.

Nope, Internet fault, it happens with some forums that I post regulary too, but normally I would notice and delete them. Anyway the smash my ipod guys got all the money, I wonder if they will really smash the ipod, keep it and listen to music, or run with the money.

I can just imagine the tune up goodies,
Nitrous oxide injection for those bass peaks when more current is needed,
turbocharging for more top end power etc......

Although the recent new iPod hype got a bit much (and yeah I contributed to it), it's kinda amusing that it didn't even make a blip on AnythingButiPods radar. I'm sure it will show up in a comparison at some point (or if there's an iPod flaw), but it's kinda funny you can look at the homepage (news from Oct 2 - today) and if this was your only source of info you'd have no idea there was a new iPod. Big news of that day was the posting on the "Delicious Pez Dispenser MP3 Player". Is that really cool or kinda sad? I honestly can't decide. Glad the site is out there though (no matter how insane its premise).

This reminds me of the South Park episode with the "You Got Served" style dance competition when the emo kid says something to the effect of "I'm so non-conformist that I'm not going to conform to the rest of the non-conformists."

I'm ooh-ing and ah-ing from the X5 to the new iPods

I have never owned an iPod, so I can say I won't fall into either of 2 categories ^ if I get the X5
