Maybe my question wasn't clear.

So, the issue I'm having is that I get to the point where EMcore is installed on my iPod, but then it tells me that I have to extract files to the root folder of the iPod. I cannot find the root folder anywhere or by using the "see hidden folders" option in view. I have no idea how to do this and really need help. I've been working on this for at least 3-4 hours and am getting nowhere. Please help!

I believe there's a mistake, there's no "root" folder, once you connect the ipod to the pc, a window (like the one when you connect an usb thumb) shows up, what you see, "the main folder" that's the root folder, you just extract your files to the first window that shows when you open the drive, and that's it.

Here.

(I am really not sure that it is the best, only that it works perfectly for me.)

(Edit: It specifically works perfectly with the official r859 release of EMcore.)

Finally Rockbox'ed my 120GB 6.5G classic earlier. :D

Thanks for the amazing guide! The sound quality seems to have improved dramatically. Hope this isn't just placebo lol

One gripe I do have is that the emCORE installation did indeed wipe my HDD, even though it says in the guide that it wont.

Wow, the audio has improved dramatically over stock!

Can't believe I held back from Rockbox'ing for so long, what the hell was I thinking??

Btw, what are everyone's preferred settings?

Anyone else listen to Trance on their Rockbox here?

Hello again fellow rockboxerers(?!) :) I am very happy with my Rockboxed 80gb 6th gen but i have one question:

I want to upgrade the hard drive to a 120gb one. Do i have to recover the iPod using itunes BEFORE i change the hard drive, or after the change is fine?

I think you'll be fine with just restoring after you put the new HDD in there.

If you think about it logically... What's the point of restoring in iTunes onto an HDD that's gonna be taken out anyways lol

I think not everything rockbox-software-related is stored on the hard drive. I thnk part of that is on some other memory. :frowning2:

I doubt it.

Have you tried checking the Rockbox site for info?
