Ipod classic - rockbox - its happening.

Yes, they need to reverse engineer the entire ipod bootloader, which requires reverse engineering of the encryption and assembly language used to program the ipod's firmware in the first place. Apple did a great job of this as is evidenced by the continuing lack of disk-mode support on ipod touch and whatnot.

10 band EQ works fine for me, i used that build above. Its much nicer having a 10 band EQ to play about with.

The problem I exactly face is when I play with 'GRAPHICAL EQ' section then all the 10 bands work as usual but whenever I try to play with "SIMPLE EQ SETTINGS' or
'ADVANCED EQ SETTINGS' section then it seems only the lower  5 frequency(30hz,60hz,120hz,250hz,500hz) bands work and the
rest(1000hz,2000hz,4000hz,8000hz,16000hz)  don't.

I wonder if any of you have come across this issue in the build quoted below from 'aroldan'.

Here it is. Newest patches + 10eq band (without 6db limit patch):

I also think that Apple is not going to offer an update for the classic soon, or even ever, but I dont think they will discontinue it either. It will probably just stay as it is for a while longer.

Also thank you guys and gals for the work and updates in this. It works great.

Obviously, the Classic won't be here forever. It's owning a smaller and smaller market as time goes by. However, it still sells. It still is, in my opinion, a one of a kind player. The only real competitor is the Cowon X7, and that is too big and with a not so nice user interface, besides being a little more expensive. This is just my opinion. And sorry for the off-topic

Returning to topic: can anyone recomend a good iPod Video theme (besides the stock one) that works perfectly with the Classic? I've tried 3 of them from the Rockbox site and they didn't work properly.

What I use is 'cabbie v2' theme with this 'cabbie 3.0 mod' theme set as while playing screen. And in theme settings i prefer to use 'clear backdrop'. Set the font size to '16-adobe-helvetica-bold'.

I did a very simple modification to this 'cabbie 3.0 mod' while playing screen regarding the progress bar.

I modified it to show the remaining track time in the right side of the progress bar instead of total track time.
