iPhone 6s Sound Quality

Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy:punch: Luckily I bought from a place with a 60 day no hassle return policy. So back it goes on Monday. Is the chord mojo a big upgrade iPhone?

No idea, but you have to consider if it is worth to spend 500 dollar for an upgrade most even won´t hear. I use Sennheiser IE80,maybe better to invest where it really matters?

Best is to listen to yourself. Personally, I'd say skip the Mojo and go to the Chord Hugo if you want the best sound quality. It's a big upgrade over the iPhone. But the Mojo is still interesting because it's much cheaper and also smaller.

But it also depends on what you use. I doubt it will matter much if you use the stock Apple earbuds for example.

I had this problem with the new Sony PHA-1a . I had to return the Sony as the clicks were so annoying.

I'm using my old 5S with no problems. A PITA carrying several devices. Not to mention having signed up for a 128 Gb 6S!

I've heard no difference the couple of times that I have heard the Mojo and Hugo. YMMV.
My suggestion is to buy from somewhere that takes returns and try it.
I bought a second hand Onkyo DAC/Amp. I'm waiting for new toy syndrome to pass to decide whether it is worth carrying around.
The fact that you need to use the clunky CCK connector with the Chord products put me off even if I did like them.

I have seen you posted this a few times. Maybe try the following test and guess which one sounds grainy and has a small soundstage?

1. iPhone 6S plus --> Auralic Taurus MKII (or other amplifier that is transparant of your choice like the GS-X MK2) --> HD 800 S
2. Chord Hugo --> Auralic Taurus MKII (or other amplifier that is transparant of your choice like the GS-X MK2) --> HD 800 S

If you still can't hear no difference between the iPhone 6S plus and the Chord Hugo, then I suppose you are lucky?

I don't have the kit you mention. My main gripe is the Mojo. It's billed as an upgrade to a smartphone so it shouldn't need anything else to shine. It also shouldn't need the CCK IMO.
I admit that I am a bit of a stuck record. With all the fervour for the Mojo I think it can take one dissenting voice. ;)

I have been subscribed to this thread for a bit as I have been quite pleased with the audio quality of my 6S. I upgraded from a 5S recently, which I was very pleased with. I'm curious if anyone can comment on how the Wolfson DAC in the Lightning to 30 pin adapter compares to the Cirrus Logic DAC in the 6S?? I've been considering purchasing an amp in the future and would prefer lightning to 30 pin -> Fiio line out cable versus double amping through the iPhone's headphone output...but not necessarily at the expense of sound quality (regarding the DAC)...or perhaps the Wolfson sounds better???

The measurements of the adapter line out attest that the signal it outputs it's extremely clean and open enough. Thus very good for amping.

Double amping sounds very good as well but you have to handle two volume controls.

The wolfson Dac in lightning to 30 pin adapter sounds very good ,open en spacious and a tight bass .

I received a PM from someone asking me if the loud noise/static ssues ever got resolved with the Beyerdynanic A200P. I hadn't used again since I last reported it here. So I hooked it up and low and behold, no issues half a dozen songs in. Perhaps Apple finally fixed the issue. I'm not on iOS 9.2.1.

Clicks and pops galore with my Onkyo HA200 :(

My iems are fine. JH audio Angie 2 but you are probably right my iPhone powers them just fine and spending 600$ for a negligible difference probably just isn't worth it.
