I have an iPhone 5 ,
I use for travel heir 4ai and jh16
Both sound horrible on the iphone 5
On other amps/ dacs they sound great
I'm not sure why
I just purchased an dap x
All sounds fantastic with it.
Ps one last item I also, own a tg334 and that sounds good on the iphone 5
Of course it's better on other amps but why do the others sound so bad
Ps at low sound level half or less its still distorted.

Any insite would be appreciated
Thanks

Interesting. I have the tg334 and it does sound great with the iphone5. Previously, I had the W4Rs and seemed to need more power. I had to crank up the volume for them to sound well. I have a JH3A on order and will compare the sound of the JH16 without amp with the iphone and the tg334. It may turn into a death match and whichever loses ends up in the classifieds.

thanks for the reply.
i cant figure out why, the jh16 are loud but distorted and so is the 4ai,s
and its not the highs its low mids to low.
but the tg 334 sound awsome dont they.
i just received a go dap x and listening to it . the music on the heir and jh is great, now i know why people praise the heir so much
im thinking the amp is clpping regardless of the volume setting. even at very-low settings it is clearly distorted.
im glad im not the only one.
i have a 4s and never noticed it. i will to an a/b tonight.

how are you connecting the IP5 and DAP X?

I'm useing the included USB to lightning it works great.
I just the jh16
They sound great even on the iPhone 5
But better with the go dap.
The amps are on back order so can say anything about that for now.
I'm sending in my old 16 ,s to be refit and yes there is a big difference in the sound . The new ones are great close to the 334
Hope this helps you.
