VC is selling their opa627bm for close to 850 AUD, I would love to see a DIYer built the opa627bm. I would have paid for it if it was 500 AUD. Considering the cost of 4 unit of opa627bm is$340.28 AUD, their PCB board can be found for 4 AUD each and the relative ease of soldering 500 AUD is more than reasonable. Now 69800 JPY is just not the right price.

Thanks for the info. VC, thanks but no thanks.

I too had to double check for the price as I thought it was a typo. I really do not understand the huge price differential between their vantam opa72sm model and valoq, beside just doing the installation upside down do they really have to do any further modification?

It cost more than the player, currently I am after the PCB board, I am happy to get someone locally do it for me and I just supply him the raw materials.

Hi all, I'm new t o this forum. I love my valoq with different OP Amp's change around....Very fun indeed.

Something I'd try and just want to share, mostly if interest DIY:

1) If DIY OPA627AM/BM/SM in Valoq, need special PCB broad (not the existing Vantam's " Pin downward, OP Amps upward").
Using Vantam DIY broad to soldering OP's downward will damage OP's (Pin 1,2,3,4 become 8,7,6,5). I found Taobao (China)
has one suitable recently. I'll try and report. (have spare 2 of OPA627AM and OPA111BM......)

2) I'm new to Head-Fi and I don't use Balance when I'm DIY my Tube preamp and power amp. So in Valoq, I'm only install
ONE Dual OP Amp like OPA2604AP, MUSES 02, AD827SQ, OPA2111KP. and empty another's. Save a lot if wanting
OPA627SM Mod, for example.

3) If SOIC OP Amp (single or Dual) is use, Make sure the adaptor (PCB broad) width is not more than 11mm,
Also, because of the limited height, those PCB need to use DIY pins( just using wasted leads from Capacitors/ resistors
which not more then 0.5mm in diameter), Cut the pin length to fit. ADA4627-1BRZ (single OP Amp) is recommend if feel
OPA627AU is expensive. Lesser "not so real Mids and highs" in OPA627AU but with more bass (but rounder, sadly), perform very close
to OPA627AU. (ADA4627 is a ANALOG DEVICES made OPA627 version)

Because I'm new to forum, so I don't know how to upload photos, sorry guys!!
Yeah, VC sell their parts Double in price compare to DIY.

First welcome to site and enjoy your stay. In order to post pictures you have to post I think 15-20 times to gain access to that feature. I truly would not have minded to pay 600 AUD for the valoq OPA627BM, which is close to how much a single PCB board for vantam sales for but for double that price it just make no sense. (I think vatnam uses OPA627SM which is more high end than BM version)

I use my valoq on daily basis for both as stand alone and as source for my various DAC. I likes its easy navigation, I truly wanted to settle for opa627BM but for 1200 AUD it makes no sense to me.

To be honest for someone lazy as me I am happy to pay a premium for VC's PCB and soldering work alone, but for the 627BM's case the premium they asked for is really way over the top.

But anyway I think I can settle for the OPA627AU for quite some time.
