The crashes have become incredibly frequent in the past 2 days - not using any kind of streaming, 100% local library off an SD card. Every time I change folder there's a good 50-60% chance the thing restarts itself. Sometimes it's as bad as restarting, trying to choose a folder, and having it restart itself again...
When can we expect a fix for that?
Edit: on 3 consecutive restarts trying to play something now
I have only seen one other report of crashes in another thread for the SP2000T. I did pass this onto the QA team for testing, but it sounds like an issue with a corrupt file. incorrectly indexed file or unsupported file format on the player causing the player to crash while indexing the files in the background.
A few things to try please:
1. Manual media scan - this will delete the current database and reindex all of the music on the player. A manual media scan usually fixes 90% of the issues with files storedc on the player including crashes while playing, missing metadata or album covers, etc. especially after loaded a large amount of files on the player. Settings -> System Reset -> Initialize media scan. If you have playlists saved on the player, make sure "Clear Playlists" is not selected. It can take up to 20 minutes for a full media scan depending on how many files you have on the player.
2. Soft Reset - This will reset the player, but WILL NOT reset any of the settings or delete anything on the player. With the player on, press and hold the power button for 8 - 12 seconds until the player shuts down. Press the power button again to restart.
3. Reload files onto the player, checking that only supported files are loaded. Do not include unsupported files such as iso or mp4. Supported file formats are WAV, FLAC, WMA, MP3, OGG, APE, AAC, ALAC, AIFF, DFF, DSF, MQA
If either of those things do not fix the issue, you can try a factory reset, which will erase all files and settings on the player, including any streaming services you installed.
