@Shanling I honestly didn't understand the choice to implement two types of volume control. This choice, in addition to creating confusion for customers who are not very familiar with it, is incomprehensible and, above all, inconvenient. I hope for an update that removes the possibility of controlling the volume of the streamer be it phone or PC because it is completely useless and only creates confusion especially with applications such as UAPP. If the UA3 had only one volume control, leaving the streamer to control its own, it would be much easier to use, especially by people accustomed to using all the other dongles on the market that are limited to only acting on their own volume. Otherwise the dongle is excellent. A question: how many hours does it take to carry out a complete burn-in? Thank you.

Ok, thanks for feedback. So for a software change i should buy new hardware or is there a hardware imitation on the UA3 to implement the same control?
We have no plans to implement this to UA3So for a software change i should buy new hardware or is there a hardware imitation on the UA3 to implement the same control?

Practically not changing anything from how the UA3 acts now... Honestly, I don't understand Shanling's way of acting... in the pages of this thread the users have almost exclusively talked about this "defect" (almost neglecting to discuss the undoubted audio quality of the device) and none of you have thought of removing this double volume control that has generated so much confusion. After this you will re-propose it in the exact same way in the new UA4... lolOk, thanks for feedback. It was adjusted on our new UA4, where you can choose in settings which volume you want to control.
What does it mean?
P.S. The idea of allowing volume management on the dongle was very right, but it was thwarted by the presence of a second volume (streamer) which is useless and creates confusion. Having said that, do what you think is best for your company...
From the number of these pages I understand that very few of us have purchased it... but could anyone tell me how long it takes for complete burn-in... I was hoping to find in this UA3 (as described in some reviews) at least a little of the "magic" of the sound present in my old but beloved M6 OG, for now it still sounds too bright. From careful listening, however, one understands that this brilliance derives from the few hours of burn-in.

Software volume control on most phones offers bigger steps and makes for easy quick adjustment. Hardware volume is much more precise and is more suited for a smaller adjustments. On UA3 it was implement as it was, given its limited controls.
On UA4, you can set it to hardware volume in settings and ignore the software volume if you wish.

Given that for me it changes little or nothing, what you say is not correct... in fact a fine adjustment of the volume is always preferred. The volume adjustment of the Android/Windows system is not convenient and fast but only coarse and inadequate and for this reason all dongle users prefer (when possible) to leave it at maximum and intervene directly on the more precise one of the dongle itself. Having said that, I wasn't asking to implement a new feature on UA3, but I was suggesting removing the one that isn't needed and which, as can be found in the previous pages of the trhead, only promotes confusion. Then do as you think best.Software volume control on most phones offers bigger steps and makes for easy quick adjustment. P.S. my advice tended to further improve an already valid product, but if you think it's right to leave it like this there's no problem on my part...
@Shanling
Directly adjusting the volume of the streamer (phone/PC) is not convenient and fast, but only dangerous for your hearing given the very high efficiency of the new IEMs and the equally very high power of the dongles. In fact, no one uses it (unless forced to). Try it, release a firmware that excludes it from UA3 and you'll see how many will download it... practically everyone.

They ain't gonna do crap. You expect a company that releases 5 products every month to update a 2-yr old product?@Shanling

... and here you are wrong... a month ago I downloaded the latest update for the OG M6 which is 4 years old...They ain't gonna do crap. You expect a company that releases 5 products every month to update a 2-yr old product?
There are other brands that forget their customers even after they have spent 1500 euros for a DAP (FiiO M15)

We actually tested this early in the development.
All basic dongles work with the software volume and bigger steps and it's what average user is used to.
So when they got UA3, with 100 volume steps and no display showing the volume level, they clicked 2-3 times, heard no difference in volume and assumed volume control is broken. Which is not ideal and on places like Amazon would result in extremely high return rate.
But ok, I will try to discuss further with our software team if they would be willing to release special firmware for this.

We released 9 models this year, so that makes on average less than one per month.

For me it was quite easy to understand how software and hardware volume works on it and how to separate it from each other, or just disable software volume control, like some here want, but it seems some are having a hard time understanding the obvious and from last few posts, it's apparent, that it's a lost cause to try to explain it to them, because it's either their way or the highway... just wowI like the way volume is handled here, so far I only use built in hardware volume, so having to press a middle button to temporally activate hardware volume makes it sure that it won't be changed accidentally and I changed volume buttons to next/ previous function for music, but disabled that function in my phone, so unless I press middle button to activate hardware volume it won't do anything else, that's awesome for me.
and UA4, as stated, has an option in settings to just choose one instead of having two at the same time, I just completely don't understand what's an issue? You have a choice of options, but it's bad? it has to be implemented only your way?
UA3's volume handling implementation is one of best of all dongles for me. But I guess some of you have interesting listening habits, it just a guess, but I think some of you change volume on a single song multiple times, lol, while I set it once and listen at that volume through multiple albums and only adjust it based on album's recorded level.
Thanks god some of you aren't demanding 2 Ohms output impedance on it, yet, lol, like I've seen on other thread, just wow, you guys... and thanks god developers stand up against such clueless demands.

Hi, I have a friend who purchased the UA3 and on my advice, he selected the song change mode with eddict player, but on his Android 13 Xiaomi Pad6 tablet when he launches UAPP, the volume control change remains selected. Even on the Amazon Music application the control that should change the songs instead changes the Android volume. While with your Samsung S22 PRO mobile phone, changing songs works normally and does not change the volume. What can be done to solve the problem. Thank you.
