Introducing Shanling SCD1.3 - New SACD player

The remote control no longer works (or rather, it only works a few centimeters away). I changed the batteries and did the tests recommended by the seller.
I am waiting for answers from the seller. Is there any universal remote control that can be used with Shanling products?

Hello,
I am interested in this CD/SACD player.

- What did the new firmware change (1.4 resp. 1.9)?
- Is gapless-play now possible with SACDs? If not, how long is the pause (1 sec.? two sec.?)?

Concerning dig-out via the HDMI-connector:
I understood that the DSD data-stream is internally converted into PCM with 88.2 kHz. Is this then 88.2 kHz with 24 bit resolution? Or is it downconverted to 88.2 kHz with just 16 bit?

Thanks in advance & greetings from Germany,
Alexander

- SACD Gapless issue is due to hardware, not something we can fix with software. It's about half second.

SACD playback will be output as 24 / 88.2 kHz over I2S.
If you play DSD files, they can be run as full native DSD over I2S.

Me, I purchased my player recently and it came with version 1.9.
There has been no update since then.

They recently released firmware 2.0, which I am currently testing; it looks promising.

[Update from my testing]
I played a couple of CDs and SACDs on my machine with firmware 2.0 this morning. The gaps on the CD tracks are relatively minor; with SACD, there are still noticeable gaps lasting an average of 1 second between tracks. However, some recordings can have gaps of 2 seconds.

Hi Shanling,

this SACD player looks promising. But gapless playback is very important for classical listeners. My 15 year old Esoteric SACD player can do it.

SCD1.3 is not capable of Gapless SACD playback.
