Introducing Shanling M7 - Portable Hi-Fi Android Player

@Shanling, is it any chance to make M7 charging while in USB-DAC mode in next firmware update?

I no longer have my M7, but I believe there is a button you can click to charge while in USB-DAC mode. That said, I am not sure that USB power will be enough to keep up with the power demands.

I am from Japan. I like Shanling M7. I also own LOTOO PAW-6000, COWON PLENUE S, COWON PLENUE 2, HIBY R6, IBASSO DX120, IBASSO DX220, COLORFLY U8, COLORFLY U6, ONKYO DP-S1A, OPUS #3, SONY ZX300, SONY WM1A. The M7 is a great player, but the quality of the playback app is poor. I provided Shanling's Japanese distributor MUSIN with about 100 32bit 352.8khz WAV songs. The distributor, MUSIN, informed me that Shanling has admitted that there is a problem with the playback app. 32bit 352.8khz WAV freezes for more than 40 seconds before playing. The HIBY app plays smoothly, 24bit is fine, Shanling has great hardware but the software is not good. I hope they improve the playback software as soon as possible.

When you say, the App, are you referring to the Shanling App. In other words when you use the same WAV files on the M7 but used another App, for example Hiby Music App, do you have the same problem?

Shanling music player app. i put the Hiby music player app on my M7 and playback is fine. Shanling has admitted that there is a problem with the app. However, Japanese reviewers wrote that Shanling does not take any action even if there is a problem with the app. Therefore, I sent nearly 100 32bit 352.8Khz WAV JAZZ, POP, and ROCK songs to the distributor for confirmation. The Japanese distributor also made a strong request to Shanling. I have 43 years of audio experience and have purchased many different products over the years for home and mobile audio.

Yes, you are right, Shanling has done a great job with the hardware but the Shanling Music Player App needs work. Hopefully they will sort it out.

43 years, wow  It is good to have you on board for your experience and insight into the Japanese perspective generally.

Yes, we got the file and confirmed issue and our software team is checking on it.

Apparently it's 32bit, 352khz, 6 channel file, I don't think I ever saw anything like that before, it kind of suprised us.

I sent various 32bit 352.8Khz data to MUSIN, the distributor, on a Micro SD card, but I don't think Shanling received all my music data. Maybe MUSIN selected some songs and sent them to Shanling.
I think the data you first encountered is of the best sound quality.
Once the Shanling Music Player app is resolved, Shanling's DAP will be on its way to further fame.
Also, please solve the order of the songs. I have also told MUSIN that the order of the songs, which is fine in the Hiby app, Mango, and other DAPs, is not in the same order in the Shanling app. I am having problems with album playback.
I don't have a heat problem, although some users in Japan have defined it as a problem, because I purely enjoy DSD, DXD, WAV and FLAC of about 50,000 songs I own.
It seems to get hot when I use the M7 like a smart phone, but smart phones get hot as well.
I believe a combination of earphone tips, earphone cables, earphones, DAP, and music data will make a correct review.
I am referring to the current reviews by various people.
I am 57 years old.
With my 43 years of audio experience, I can say that it is not whether the sound is good or bad, but whether you yourself enjoy it or not.
No matter how good a DAP you buy, if the earphones, earphone tips, earphone cable, and music data are not compatible with each other, you will not be able to enjoy the music.
Even if you don't spend a lot of money, if all the elements are in place, you can have a wonderful music experience to your liking.
This is the joy of audio.
Unlike a certain rip-off Korean manufacturer, I think Shanling's pricing is excellent.
I have high expectations for Shanling.
Shanling is a company that I am paying attention to.

Dunu Luna? Never really became interested in it because of the reportedly bright-ish sound profile.

Yes, it is. Right now, Luna is listening to a song on two different types of gold-plated sterling silver wire 8-core, and it is quite bright. The earphone tips are Radius black. If I want them warmer, I can change to DUNU HULK etc. or change the tips to adjust. I generally do not use an equalizer. The only exception is the excellent Cowon; Luna is easy to adjust with earphone tips and cables. I have HYLA TE5B, Oriolus Reborn LTD, N5005, K3003, mmcx'd IE800, CL2, SE846, Shuoer Conductor, 64 U8, DUNU DK4001, Maverick+, Acoustune Hs 1670 ss Hs 1551Cu, Mofasest Trio. The DK4001 is the most difficult to adjust.Moondrop S8 fell from my ears and went to the grave.I am wondering if I should mmcx my K3003. now that I have settled on re-cabling my mmcx'd IE800, I will do the IE800 earphone tip mod.
