Can you elaborate more on the new OS module? Will it has an updated DAC chip? I really like my M30 with the discrete amp.
Is this new OS give better or different sound quality compare to the old one ?
Or is it only give better & faster UI ?

@Shanling can you guys make a special order one for me? I would pay handsomely for one. Especially if it’s the same quality of your cases for the daps. Please think it over and let me know.

I have an idea. I prefer the sound of the M8 player over the M9 and even the M9 plus. Have you considered doing an M8 plus that has that very musical and a little darker sound profile. That way you have the 9+ for the reference sound and the M8+ for those of us who love the original darker Shanling house sound. What do you think? You can have another product in the flagship space but with a hint of Nostalgia. Anyway I love your products, and hoped to get a newer version with newer OS and UI but that same M8 sound. It’s still my favorite dap of all the flagships I own. Cheers from Italy![]()

Is the old OS still supported ? Firmware udpate ?We have been playing with it a bit, honestly not sure if I hear difference or not.
Definitely would recommend it for the tiltable screen and faster system, wouldn't buy it with hopes that it would be sound improvement.
Yes, it's still among our supported models, software team is just slow in pushing out these updates.Is the old OS still supported ? Firmware udpate ?
The last firmware has new bug (gain setting) and still no fix in more than 6 months

Can you get me the info of the Leather company you use? I have no connections otherwise.It's upgraded the system module. DAC module is different.
We have been playing with it a bit, honestly not sure if I hear difference or not.

For this I would strongly recommend getting in touch with some local leather gear shop. Find some that can do custom bags and they can do a lovely job with exactly your demands. I have one friend in Shenzhen who does custom leather backpacks and camera cases, this is something I would do if i wanted custom carrying case for M30.
DAC that was used in M8 is not available anymore and it was big part of its sound.

As for the sound quality difference with the new OS it should probably not change the sound correct? I like the older Shanling sound and if the new OS makes the sound more modern and brighter in any way I will have to avoid it.

There’s plenty of people who do leather, but I like the same as you have for your players. The rounded ends are reinforced and I can’t take a chance with anyone I don’t know personally. I trust you guys. Can I just pay you and have you send it. It would be a big help. I have many of your products and the cases are always top notch.
