Is the anti-skip lossless? Or does it use ADPCM compression? FIIO has sorely disappointed me when it comes to the DM13

Non-Android DAPs are fairly limited market. We released a few models for that last year, but no plans for any new non-Androids in 2025.

Today many people want a remote control from a starship.
It’s good that you have in your lineup non android devices for those, who needs just a music player…

I’m currently owning hiby RS2 and got my eye on 10th anniversary edition. I have a suspicions that it has more multibit sound than actual multibit.

I got a chance to unbox the EC Zero T last night and but have only given it a brief listen. I will hold my thoughts on sound until I have more time to spend with it.

However, from a fit and finish perspective it is light years above Fiio and Moondrop's current offerings (and it should be at the price point).

It is a great looking device. Super solid. The disc operation is extremely stable and silent. I would love some sort of case or surface protection for this thing because I'm terrified of scratching it lol. Luckily it will spend most of its duty in my house in my listening area and not moving too much.

The menus are super intuitive and easy to navigate. The display is very bright and clear.

So far a very good experience.

Any chance of getting a similar device (keep it running on batteries please - the cleanest power) but with proper RCA output and digital inputs? I am more and more back to CDs and R2R plus tube output is too good to be true…..

Do people actually understand what DAP stands for? This is the OG 20-century old school Portable Digital Audio Player.
I still have a Sony portable cd-player in my drawer. I can tell you; it never sounded that great.

I also still have a Sharp portable minidisc player, that sounds a whole lot better even if it's 32kHz with a compression codec. And still looks stunning.

Before those I had a Sony DD3 Walkman in red. That sounded pretty good for the pre-cd era. Unfortunately it finally broke. But it was a real portable hifi system.

It has a digital input through USB. RCA out is easily rectified with an adapter cable. For me personally this is first and foremost a portable or transportable CD player so those items are of less importance.

Shanling EC mini has RCA out, but no digital input.

I think the SMSL PL100 with external battery pack could be an option for what you are after although it doesn't have tubes or r2r.

First two reviews I see on the local marketplace - one positive and one negative. The negative one mentions issues with CDs from around 70 mins of playtime - skipping and freezing. I wonder if he was just unlucky with QC or is it a real problem with the model?

I haven't had that issue with mine. Not sure I have listened to any CDs that go to the 70 minute mark though.

There is a known glitch like this with some ET3 units. If they used same transport, this could be an issue.

Is this the CD drive used in my Shanling CR60 which was supposed to have a “Phillips/Sony” “CD Drive”
I would be careful in buying any Shangling CD player unless they make good on the alleged false representation as to the CR60 CD transport and accept returns and refunds or at least offer a credit towards another Shangling product

Since no major manufacturer makes Redbook CD drives, it will always be some modification of a CD-ROM drive. I know a few boutique, high end CD transports use Redbook CD drives, but the days of inexpensive transport mechanisms are long gone.
