Any recommendations for a decent deal on a GT2 in Europe? UK dealer isn’t very receptive towards any form of discount on the list price.

Hello friends,

I have been enjoying my GT2 for about three weeks now. I have used it for my two favorite IEMs, RN6 and Maven II, and it has brought my audio experience to a new level.

I think the amp section of GT2 is a big step up from LPGT-V1. With the S gain exclusive to GT2, an external amp is no longer a necessity for harder-to-drive IEMs. The V1 has difficulties driving RN6 in H gain, but this is not an issue for GT2 in S gain. That being said, GT2 can still benefit from an external amp. When paired with my TSU-SC, the mids become much fuller, the individual images become bigger, and the soundstage also gains more height.

IMO, the DAC section of GT2 is probably two steps up from the original. I have long enjoyed my LPGT-V1 in LO with my TSC-SC, and I used to consider this chain my holy grail, but I immediately noticed improvements across the board when I switched to GT2. The sound becomes faster and more dynamic. The soundstage expands further in all three dimensions, particularly in depth. The treble is much more extended, energetic, and detailed but not fatiguing at all. I can easily hear more details and spatial clues with GT2. In comparison, the V1, although still capable, sounds tamer; its treble is polite and restrained.

On the functionality and usability front, GT2 is still fantastic and maintains what makes V1 great. It's undoubtedly slightly heavier than V1, but you won't notice it much in your hand thanks to its ergonomic, albeit not as attractive, shape. The boot and shut-down time is now three to four seconds instead of two, but that's still lightning fast. It generates more heat than V1, but it only gets slightly warm (below 40 °C) after multiple hours of usage, and it actually displays the temperature when charged, which is a pretty cool new feature for GT2. There are other new features that I still need to figure out, e.g., smart charging and airplay. The GT2's battery is much bigger, but it lasts for about the same amount of time and charges as fast as V1.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day!

Does anyone know a way of remote controlling the GT2 (outside of using LTTP);

There is a Lotoo Remote app on iOS but it is not compatible with the GT2?

Curious to any GT2 vs Hugo 2 impressions. Given that Hugo 2 is purportedly on the same level at least as Mjolnir, I would not expect GT2 to be as authoritative?

As someone who owns both, I have never A/B-ed them. While I slightly preferred the APX SE with the GT2, I prefer my Traillii Ti with the Hugo 2.
They are pretty different but quite complementary. My use case is a bit different compared to most, however. I wouldn't own a Hugo 2 without 2Go since the duo is used as a Roon endpoint.

Which relegates the GT2 to acting as my portable set up- but also one that doesn't feel like a compromise. With LTTP I can even keep using Roon Arc on the go, such a bonus to have.

Gotta sing this gem of a DAP and LTTP some extra praise.

Lotoo’s GT2 sounds great as is, I have been enjoying the APX SE out of it tremendously since I went abroad a week ago.

The real star of the show has been LTTP letting me use my iPhone as the device providing the media being played on the GT2 losslessly- including via Roon ARC.

Being able to use my phone’s screen/tablet/laptop etc as a remote, while playing it all on the GT2 and APX SE has been a revelation.

Whoever came up with this is nothing short of a genius!!!

How will define this DAP ? Warm ? Neutral ? Dark ? Bright ? Analog ? Natural ? Relax ? Dynamic ? Vivid ?
I would say neutral (it is Lotoo we are talking about, after all!), yet very dynamic. Packs a serious punch too!

I hear in the "Headphone" setting, I find it rather "warm", with a really good punch. :L3000::thumbsup:
I have a custom PMEQ that is very close to headphones with a tad more treble. It sounds great.

The GT2 is neutral, yet has thick, musical sound throughout the frequency range.

Hi guys, my GT2 just arrived haven't listened to it properly, still familiarize myself with the setting options, this is my first Lotoo DAP.

Can you guys help me, what's Optimize Charging use for?
