Oh man, can't you share a little bit of love with the NW - WM1Z anymore? LOL I suppose it had a good run with you in your audio world.

Ohh it had a long time a good run for what it is hehe time to move on 🙂

I really can't say enough about how well my Shure SRH1540 headphones pair with the Sony NW-WM1A. I still really want the Sony NW - WM1Z, but may take a look at the M8.
I just brought in my second WM1Z.

Yes, its an exceptional player, but I would still be satisfied with the 1A. They are very similar in circuit design as well, except for the resistors and cables.

Especially for the price I would say go with the M8. I'll probably go with the M8 after I sell my 1Z later.

Time for coffee and Solar Wind with the Lotoo Paw Gold 2017. You can change this player to sound like so many others with the PMEQ. Even with all the new entries to the market, I still think this simple, basic unit is very relevant and holds up quite well.

I have been playing with the parametric equalizer and have my LPG sounding very similar to my Sony NW - WM1A this morning. I have been able to make the LPG completely non fatiguing, but still sounding great with great resolution.

I decided to try my LPG 2017 with my Sennheiser HD650 headphones, and it sounds very open, dynamic, and fun.

The LPG still beats any of the current Android players when it comes to boot up speed and usability. I think I will keep this one permanently. I will probably have to have Musicteck send it out for a new battery at some point LOL

I’m considering getting one. I used to own the lpgt but had to sell it. However, apparently the lpg has a more anologue sound

People are always hesitant to use the parametric equalizer. I have some settings that are so delightful and can make this player sound like most others, if I try hard to find the correct adjustments. I'm also a huge fan of the Sony DAPs. The NW-WM1Z sounds analog. The LPG is more reference with a slight midbass bump.

I mainly use a wm1z these days but that lacks power for some stuff. I’m going to get a lotoo to go with it. What headphones/iems do you use with it?

I am currently using the Sennheiser HD650. It also does very well with Shure SRH1540 headphones.

I really believe that the power issue is completely overblown. There are plenty of easy-to-drive, high-quality headphones out there to suit any musical tastes. I was able to demo the gold Sony several years back, and I absolutely love the way it sounds. The LPG is a perfect complement to the Sony NW-WM1Z. For whatever reason, there is a headfi contingent that seems to think that higher quality headphones all have to be harder-to-drive. I do not subscribe to that philosophy. The Shure headphones with LQI balanced cable sound absolutely beautiful out of the Sony players. The Shure headphones are one of the few headphones that actually sound better at low to moderate listening levels. My hearing is important to me so I don't crank it. What headphones are you using with your Sony? I will gladly sacrifice some of the harder to drive headphones as an option for the amazing battery life and the great sound with the easier to drive cans.
