Here's a golden opportunity for a Head-Fier who's been looking for a ATH-W5000. Consider this the "ultimate" W5000, as it's perfectly brand-new, unused, but with 7.5ft. of the amazing 22G ultra-pure copper Jena Labs cryo-treated wire-- hands down, the best headphone cable we've come across. Simply awsome. It's also terminated with the world's best 1/4" jack from Furutech; these killer jacks cost $30 by themselves.

This package of new W5000 and Jena Labs cable would normally run $1199.

Contact me now and pay only $799 shipped within the USA (please contact for international rates).

You save $400!

All original packaging/cases/paperwork included.

You will never see another deal like this. First come, first served. We accept Paypal only.

Mark

One-time only, just to promote our re-cabling service. Got a favorite phone that needs a new cable? Contact us and we'll put the amazing Jena Labs cable on your phone of choice. Sweet! Many folks here know me as a cable freak/geek, and have followed my adventures in ICs and power cords for many years here. FWIW, IMHO, the Jena Labs 22G cable is IT for headphones. A fantastic upgrade.

Oh, and another teaser...

I've ordered a Phiaton PS500 headphone. This is a brand new "luxury" headphone that has yet to be commented here on Head-Fi.

I can no longer post my thoughts in the Headphones section as a MOT, but you can be assured, I'll have a review and pics here in this paid-for thread soon...

Wow, looks like mine now! I am loving the new Mahogany cups and stuffed earpads, even with the APS V2 cable from May 2007. I also like the extra bass from not having done all the markl mods, but with the extra midrange detail and presence I was missing before.

And the extra sound differences after of re-cupping are (which are the real differences (in tone specially, and others))??. In your most honest opinion; if you want to put some impressions...
Thanks.

Markl, i was interested in get some cups from you (specially thre demos ones...), but you didn't receive international money orders, only paypal (that i can't get, because of some restrictions....). 'I feel excluded' hehehe...

You could search for the 2 reviews that mrarroyo and I have posted about the MD5000, and then apply those same impressions to the modded D2000 with wood cups. There are even some comments in those threads about the D2000 woody in particular. But I'll be nice and post the links for you at the bottom.

The only difference between my partially modded D2000 and the fully modded MD5000 DE is (1) my D2000 mids are still very slightly laid back vs the MD5000 DE although more forward and present than before the woodies and earpads, and (2) my bass is a little increased but slightly less controlled than the MD5000 DE because I don't have the full mods (I have a different cable but with stuffed earpads, and dynamat dampened wood cups but not dampened the rear of the driver or internal frame).

Ok, thank you anyway for the links. I had missed the first one (that of Marroyo. The another one, i have already readed....).
Well, the impressions are very interesting/useful. But, even so; i haven't seen impressions about the tone versus the stock cup (that in my opinion is very good indeed for being "plastic"). But the soundstage and mids improvements are very good to listen, and is something that interest me a lot with the stock pads, because i don't have those problems (about the midrange lack of detail/airiness and bass out of control) with the velours.... But, the velours are a temporal mod, because they belongs to another headphone that will need them back.... For that i have interest in this cups.
Markl, there is not another form to get the cups for anyone in my conditions (that can't use paypal...)...?
Thanks
