just want to point out here this design is a plagiarized work from a patented design in China and should not be publicly made available.

Question - The $80 price tag includes (comes with) all current connectors? (2-pin, MMCX, A2DC, and Pentaconn Ear connectors)

@EffectAudio

You are exactly right, It comes in a set of 2-pin, MMCX, A2DC, and P - Ear connectors

This looks great. Will you eventually be selling cables that are already terminated with ConX connectors? Or do we have to buy a regular EA cable and then pay for it to be re-terminated?
Yes it will be a standard option for new cables!

What a great concept!

How do you ensure the 2-pin connectors are not crooked relative to the shaped ear loops when screwed in? They look like they are not aligned correctly in the image in the first post.
You have a sharp eye! The picture was taken this way to illustrate that the connectors are twisted on (rather than clicked). So it seems misaligned because it is not fully screwed on. But in hindsight I can see how this can be confusing. The connectors will be terminated in perfect alignment with the cable, no worries there ;)

How is that different than what I said? You still need to go from ConX to 2.5; 4.5, etc. by the way. As far as I can tell its just a semi-universal connection.

Oh, now I get it, sorry. You would need multiple ConX cables (for the different terminations), you're right about that. I was suggesting in a previous post that Dunu and Effect Audio partner up to offer a ConX connector on one end (MMCX, 2pin, etc.) and the swappable Dunu connectors on the other (2.5mm, 3.5mm, 4.4mm), for ultimate versatility.

Hey Effect Audio,

Please count me as interested. Do you have any videos to show all of this in action?

Also, can you clarify pricing? Price of individual connectors, a set of all connectors, cost of connectors to 2.5 and 4.4 balanced; to 3.5 single ended. And if custom cabling is required what is involved? The last question relates to my FLC8D which probably can take 2 pin but it would be best to just modify the cable to include this system in the middle.

Consider yourself noted as interested ; ) Great idea, we'll look into it.

ConX refers to the interchangeable top-end connectors. You can send an existing cable in to be terminated for $30 + $50 for all 4 connectors we currently offer as a fixed package. We can't yet offer other types of connectors but are working to include them in the future. For new cables it will simply be a $50 option.

Bottom-end adapters for 2.5 or 4.4 is a different feature where prices depend on the type of adapter and wire used. You can browse our website to get a feel. Does this answer your question?

Hi there, we are aware of this issue and it is currently being resolved. We'll release a statement shortly.

Can I buy the connectors (parts set) and terminate it myself ?
Please make the connectors available to the DIY community.
No problem to buy the connector set and terminate them yourselves. You can order it from the website for $50.

Many audiophiles have multiple IEMs, often with different connectors. This always meant having to buy separate cables for each type of connector, which is costly and inefficient.

But now the simple but elegant solution is finally here: Effect Audio is proud to announce ConX. ConX allows you to simply click the top-end connector of your choosing into your cable, providing maximum versatility for your favorite cables. No longer do you have to choose which IEMs to buy a cable for, and which not.

PENTACONN.jpg

Through rigorous testing, we sourced the best materials to ensure the connector’s resistance is kept at a minimum. As a result, the performance of the ConX connectors is on par, if not exceeding those of most connectors on the market today when it comes to sound quality – just as you have come to expect from Effect Audio.

ConX will initially be available for 2-pin, MMCX, A2DC, and P- Ear connectors (more to follow).

And the best part is that Effect Audio is opening our doors to all cables: regardless of brand, you can send your cable to us to be re - terminated with ConX connectors.

Price: USD$50 + USD$30 retermination fee.

Limited promotion happening from now until End - March 2021
1) All new purchases from the Heritage series onwards will be entitled to a free ConX upgrade.
2) All existing EA cable owners will get a free upgrade to ConX (re-termination service charges of $30 applies).
3) We will also be accepting any non - EA cables to be upgraded for ConX at USD$80 (US$30 for Re-termination cost and US$50 for ConX).
4) There is an exclusive promotion for EA Club members on the new ConX.
brilliant and simple and obvious.

which company patented it?

TOMY audiophiles in China. Please see attached pictures. There are three in total and unfortunately they’re in Chinese because the patent was processed through in China.
1), 2) patent authorization given by the patent agency.
3) official release/advertising post on Weibo (Chinese Twitter/Facebook) about their connectors in September, 2020 (way before this release by EA last week)

This article show that some other company had the similar idea before Tomy audio launched and they also did registered patent in China...
