Hello Head-fiers,

I've been rocking my LG V60 w/ UAPP for several years and recently decided to replace my HD598 with HiFiMan Deva Pro. The phone doesn't have the power to drive these cans in wired mode so I employed an old Fiio Kunlun (E18) DAC AMP to give it a push. I originally used this unit with a Nexus5 phone in its full capability as a DAC, but it sounds wonderful simply as an amplifier for the signal from the headphone out on the V60. For those familiar with Fiio,

I'm running the amp in normal gain and w/o bass boost. Both switches in on position negatively affect the signal so I expect that it's on its last legs.

For those who also run a mobile setup, what headphone amp would you suggest for an upgrade?

Thanks pbui44.

I should have mentioned a budget for this... I don't want to exceed $400 USD.

Also, I like the DAC on the phone well enough so wired is preferred. I'm really just looking for a portable amp that would be a natural upgrade from the E18.

Well, if you want a tubey sound, then this will work:

If you want a regular solid-state sound, then this will work:

For the Deva Pro, the tube sound will provide the most "full" sound as a portable, but it is really up to your musical preferences.
