Interesting machine from Luxury n Precision

Maybe I don't quite understand your problem, but I'm facing a problem with sorting folders. I found this Sorting for Luxury&Precision link here on forum and now it helps me to organize files on my P6.
Load all your music onto a program like foobar. Highlight them all, browse the metadata and delete all the extra metadata you dont need and just keep the bare minimum.

I kept track, album artist, album name track number.

If you want gapless, you can use cuesheet.

Did you format the SD-Card in the device itself? If not it might be a good thing to do it helped me with any freezes. Even if there is a freeze chances are that whole library is indeitified and you can use the the dap.

As already mentioned use drivesort software if you are on windows to organise the library on the dap, its basically 2 mouse clicks each time you album. By default it doesnt use the western alpha numeric system I believe.
Thank you for the suggestions. I did not format it on the device. I am on a Mac and formatted it to Fat32 (MS-DOS). I first copied all my music onto the card and when I tried to update the media library it would crash/restart after a minute or so and whenever I would click on album or artist it would go into update media library again and crash.
I deleted all the music and added album in groups of 10, after group updating media library, which worked, until I cam to one set of album where it started crashing again. I found the album and when I deleted it, it was updating fine. I did not see anything obvious with the album. I got some software to retag the albums (MusicBrainz Picard), but I did not read / understand the instructions correctly and when it was done with my library it had deleted about 3/4 of my files.
Btw, whenever it was crashing the device when trying to update the media library, it would play music just fine from the folder view.
I had to leave for a trip and used the card from my AK player (formatted in ExFat) and it behaves the same way. Cannot update media library, but I can play the music through the folder view. Good enough for the trip, but I want to get that straightened out and maybe bring some order to my music library chaos.
Many thanks for the suggestions you gave me. I will try them.
Love love love the way the music sounds though. Sounds cliche, but with many songs it is like hearing them for the first time. So vivid, detailed and just sounding like I am there with the music. Amazing.

I don't know if what I am about to post will be much help to anyone or if it has been posted elsewhere ( I couldn't find anything much really). So I received my 10th Ann version 2 days ago to add to my other DAPs from AK, iBasso and Sony. Those latter products running some skinned Android OS made the import process painless, I have never used or handled a LP product before but went through enough forum posts and videos to understand that the UI was a bit lacking....no it's primitive. I really do hope that the sacrifice was to make the listening experience better. You will be in a better position to handle the startup journey by having a PC instead of a Mac, SD card reader w WRITE function, the FATSORT program (google it), a 5XX GB SD card ( I did my initial import w a 1TB card but it would cause the device to crash during media update; weather the 1TB size contributed to that problem or not, I don't know for sure, but others had posted they had better luck w a 512 GB card), and lots and lost of patience (bring a truck load) and a clear calendar.

Here is what I did to port my 4500 song, 210GB collection ( again my experience may be unique and I hope there's an easier way for others)
  • Format SD card to MS-FAT ( did this on my PC not DAP).
  • Add music to SD card in increments of approximately 400 songs or 20-24GB
  • Run Fatsort program
  • Open the SD card file w the music
  • Click the sort pulldown menu
  • Hit Comparison database and select ‘short name’
  • Hit save button (the SD reader must have write function as well)
  • Exit Fatsort program
  • Eject SD card
  • Insert card into P6Pro and run media update ( I turned the device on and off after I inserted the SD card and before I removed it to prevent corrupting anything)
  • Repeat steps 2-6 until you've ported your library.
Note: I did not have to trim any data from the source file, kept all the information
I don't know if formatting the SD card in the device instead of on my PC would have made difference
I also don't know If I had started with a 512GB card instead of 1TB would have enabled me to do all 4500 songs in one go.

I realized as the process went along, the media update would take longer and longer, I think there is an onboard memory deficiency w the device if I had to guess.

Did some relaxing listening last night after a long week with the P6Pro 10AE Silver and P6Pro 10AE Gold with Fitear Titan and DC Ti respectively. Cables by @Eric Chong of Eletech: 5th Ode and Sonnet of Adam. :)

Does the sound differ significantly between the Gold and Silver versions of the Luxury & Precision P6 Pro 10th Anniversary Edition?
I often listen to pop music, so I’m interested in the Silver version. Does the Silver version emphasize vocals more prominently? Also, is the Silver version not suitable for listening to classical music or instrumental performances? (Is it mid-focused with restrained highs and lows?)

I am new to the Luxury & Precision World and I have to say it has been a mixed journey so far.
I love the sound. It is so clear, rich and detailed. Cannot get enough of it. Battery life is outstanding and power seems ample (drives the Nightjar Duality wonderfully).
The software is another story. Very fast, navigation of software easy, navigation of music is a challenge. Whenever I try to update the media library it crashes the player. I do not know why. It may be the filename, but I am not sure what prompts it. At some point I came across some mention of that, but cannot find it. So currently I am just using the directory, which lets me navigate the micro SD card (not ideal since the organization on it is lacking). If anyone has some guidance about file naming or other peculiarities of LP, I would appreciate any help.
I am using a 1TB card on my P6Pro Ti99. I found the problem in my case was I had some corrupt files on my card which causes a crash or if there are any music format files which are not supported on the device it will crash it. I suggest going through and seeing which ones cannot run on it. I removed some lossless ones on them. Good luck.

Yes. Discernible difference between the two. The tuning of the Silver has probably greater meat and textured bass. There is more focus on mids than the Gold. But that is only because the gold has a bigger soundstage and treble extension. Frankly, I use both to listen to vocal centric music like jazz vocals, asian pop and Chinese ACG. No issues with either. Different presentation, :) I do not listen much to classical music. So, can't help you there.

Thank you.

I feel relieved after hearing your thoughts. I’m currently waiting for the Silver to arrive. While there’s a difference in the number of units available, the Gold sold out quickly, whereas the Silver took much longer to sell out. I was worried that the Silver might be inferior to the Gold despite being priced the same. Since the P6Pro is very expensive, I didn’t want to have any regrets. It seems that we listen to the same genres of music, so feedback from someone who has compared the Gold and Silver is very important to me.

No worries. Considering how LP has this relentless pursuit of sound quality, I would not have been concerned. :) It is just that the music presentation is different. I cannot imagine LP releasing two products alongside each other and one is inferior in any way.

I will say that I enjoy both presentations for the genres I listen to.

Cool evening on Lunar New Year Eve over here in Singapore. Just enjoying some music with the P6Pro 10AE Silver. As it burns in, the soundstage actually opens up more and the bass impact is really deep while remaining textured. :)

I have the silver and, coming from the E7 and SP3K, find it to be very much an all-rounder suitable for all genres.

Congrats! Enjoy! One thing one can always be assured with LP products is the sound quality. Pity they did not make more of the Gold version. Whilst it is tuned with classical music in mind, I find that it is just as enjoyable for vocals, acoustic and jazz. :)
