Correct! Been using it for a few days now and got used to it. Actually it’s not that bad. Just as long as have your music categorized correctly. It shouldn’t be too much of a problem. This is more of a purist machine and I understand why. Kinda does suck that you can’t search for songs anymore. Heard there will be a new firmware update from a fellow member that is supposedly improve the sound signature.

Anyone have any tips on how to create a playlist that can be used across multiple DAP’s?

So you navigate through the folders or menu using 2 buttons on the right?

you use the forward or back button on the left side with the option to use the scroll wheel depends on how you configure it. I found that I prefer to keep the wheel strictly for volume.

. Do you have an option to play all songs on the sd card with random shuffle mode?

Any details about the EQ?

Does the P6 automatically lower the gain once EQ is switched on?

In order to access the EQ. You need to go to system settings-> equalizer

Thanks for the info again. It looks rather primitive but it does have 'all music' with shuffle option so I am relieved.
The EQ seems to only have presets without custom option to adjust freq. This is quite disappointing.

So far I have stopped using my AK SP2K due to the weight. I carry this unit around in my back pocket everyday paired with different IEM’s and the sound is very quite excellent. I love the fact that I can pair my iPhone to the P6 and play my WhatsApp voice messages via the P6 without removing my IEM’s to listen to the voice message. Can reply right away by voice or text message with my phone. One thing I hope they fix with the next update is that it will automatically resume the music as you have to manually do that via the P6.

Definitely is a lot more power and details and clarity than the r2r2k.

If you ask me, I am very happy with the unit besides the fact that it feels quite cheap in hand compared to the AK units. I guess you wanna buy this for the sound quality right? I would take this over the r2r2k any day.

Happy to receive my leather case for the P6 today. In love with the yellow and the leather is of high grade. Kind of reminds me of Hermès leather and I’m in love with the looks. Loud but classy. Wish it came sooner but better late than never. I ended chipping the the front of my screen as well and am happy to report that it is only the tempered screen protector. I am requesting a new front and back screen protector and my unit will look pristine again. Already have about 200 hours on the P6 and the sound is very organic. Can I use that word? I am awaiting for the firmware update that is supposed to enhance the sound signature and fix some minor bugs. So far so good. Still going back and forth between my SP2K and P6. Some songs are a toss up between both units where as the SP2K wins when it comes to micro details.

I have attached some pictures here and urge anyone that is buying a P6 to get a leather case ASAP. The tempered glass chips so easily and I carry my P6 in a foam bag. I apologize in advance for the crude pictures.

In addition I will be selling my P6 in the next few weeks as I am on the search for a LP6 Ti and I hear that there are some factory mods that have been juiced up to 7Vrms. Therefore won’t be needing my P6 as I want my LP6Ti.

Also will be purchasing a Sony 1Z player and am going to demo a Romi mod and hopefully take care of that this week. Anyone have any suggestions as I listen to a lot of EDM, R&B, Female Vocals, Jazz and Pop.

A quick update to the sound signature and it’s more and more organic. Excellent soundstage and focus in regards to the music and the vocals. Very happy with the unit and it’s very good for IEM’s. Can listen to the P6 for hours and hours, whereas I do get tired listening to the same songs on the SP2K after an hour or so. Call it detail fatigue?

improvement? YES YES and SUPER YES. BIG improvement. Go get it. You will be very happy with it. Honestly for an extra $500 over the R2R2K. It’s a no brainer and it sounds so much better. Even though the user interface is basic. It forces you to organize your music into better categories.

BTW, I dropped by Romi Audio to demo a modded Sony WM1Z. Dino noticed I had the P6 and asked how it sounded. So I happily let both Dino and Johnny demo the unit. About 20 minutes later they both gave it a thumbs up and said it was the best sounding R2R dap in the market today. Then Johnny asked if I was interested in modding the P6 and I said sure why not. A few minutes later Dino was taking apart the P6 with such enthusiasm and precision like a kid with a new toy for Christmas. I left the unit at Romi Audio and Dino said he would get back to me on what he could do. Knowing him, he’s studying the P6 at midnight and tinkering with it now and dreaming of shielding, capacitors, wires, soldering, batteries and such sorts.

Won’t find out until later what can be modded. Think of the hifiman R2R2K with more details and more defined soundstage and presence. If you want the R2r2k then I wouldn’t be after details but more of the overall sound signature.
