If I can afford to buy another DAP I would get the A&Norma SP15 which is affordable, “special” look with tilting screen and definitely not (almost) the same DAC chips like the DX200 I owe now...

Checked the SE100 manual and is explains how to connect the SE100 as a USB DAC to a computer. The manual says is it supports MAC OS 10.7 and Windows XP, 7 , 8 and 10. Have not downloaded the SR15 manual.

Oooh... perdy pictures.

The SR15 looks pretty good actually. Interested to see the review against the AK70 Mkii... however, if I'm going to upgrade I'm more tempted by the SE100.

...of course, just when I'm pretty happy with my AK300 and have some new CIEMs on the way! Will be very interested to see the reviews of both the SE100 and the SR15. Curious to get an idea of the single-charge playback time that you can squeeze out of the SR15, given that they're quoting around the 11hr mark for the SE100.

Feel like the SE100 would be the natural upgrade option from the AK70, 70ii, 300 etc and the SR15 might be a bit more of a side-step.

Do not agree. I was looking and drooling at 70ii, but SR15 sems to be a slight upgrade in most cases, quad core CPU so better responsiveness, better pair of DAC's with better characteristics, resolution, SNR, dynamic range, possibly a marginally better battery life, much improved UI (same as SP1k just rescaled). I was turned off by tilted screen at first, but now when I saw several pictures of it, it's a quite interesting and much more dynamic design than 70ii, at the same price hopefully...

Looking at these recent pics actually has me squirming away from AK. I've always been a fan of their aesthetics but this seems like them being too much AK for their own good. Firstly what the F*@$% is up with these names lately? Might be just me but they seem to be reaching in this regard with the new naming scheme. Secondly the screen on the A futura honestly seems slightly too big and I know Im going to be alone on this one but it looks WAAAAaaayyyyyy too much like a smart phone where as the ak380 and even the A&U Sp1000 still maintain that audio player look while keeping up with the times.
Lastly, and again I'm sure I'll be the only one but who said lets put the screen tilted like that? Are we really so lazy we need the screen tilted off that much from center to convenience our lives with the time it will save us from moving our wrist that extra little bit??

Everything else sounds great though, and it honestly is good to see them attempting to address the more affordable side of the market and getting the word out on audio ultimately to more peeps is never a bad thing..

honestly, I prefer big screen. for the price of daps today, I expect no cost cutting. I can get a 70$ phone with better screen than most high end dap today. I don't know why dap manufacturer keep using awful screen.

I don't think the Futura looks much more of a smartphone then the SP1000.

I think it is because phone manufacturers buy up all the supply years in advance. The DAP manufacturers buy what they can and since the number of DAPs is much smaller than phones, they have a much higher unit cost.

I appreciate you sharing more pictures, I haven't come across these and had only seen the last few posted. I will recede my previous line of criticism and agree that they have still maintained a bit of uniqueness, my other points still stand however.
