You beat me to it. I was just about to post this too. It seems Bob has quietly posted 3 new upcoming models. There is no order or ship date yet but looks interesting with this A.D.L.C driver. I wonder if that's a replacement for the piezo or in addition to. We'll see. We didn't even get an email from him yet so this is pretty fresh.

Aten, imo, with the proper filter combination (follow the chart).
Don't agree. Opus has a better bass quantitively and qualitatively (more punch)

There are actually 5 new models coming. Three are on the site now and will be ready for order the end of the week. Two more Ultra Models (my words no Bob's) coming later: Opus Melius and Astra Ultraque

My opinion is based on the models I own, which are the Zenith, the Aten, the RAH and the PB2. I never tried the Opus

I have R2 Aten and Opus Mia and I am comparing A/B on Cayin N6. Opus is bassier and better. Not only in bass section.

Hello everyone. I just got my R2 Aten (in used condition though), and I absolutely love them, but there's one problem: a huge driver flex in left earphone. Now I'm concerned that these iems won't last long. Why only left pair does that? Is there any way to fix this, or maybe to put the earphone in ear canal in a specific way? On my Audiosense AQ0 there was driver flex too, but I can avoid it simply by pushing iems into the ear slowly and accurately, and it doesn't work on Aten sadly.

Hi,
the ones that IMR make are pretty much perfect for the IMR IEMs - Both the newer 2022 black cables and the standard Single Crystal Copper cables
I have tried many different cables but 99% of the time come back to the IMR ones
The only reason to try a different cable is
A. if you want to spend a LOT and get a higher grade cable - and whether you can appreciate the difference would depend on the quality of your listening or
B. if after you find the perfect combo of lower bass filters and treble upper filters you still find there is a bit too much low end you could look for a quality silver cable. I would think it unlikely you would want more bass or a thicker low end as the Aten drivers are top class both in quality and tuning but it may be that if you use a source that is very warm this might have an effect

Something like is a very nice paring and inexpensive

If you want to go down the rabbit hole of cables there are few extensive threads here on Head fi

Hope that helps

Thank you Jon

My target is a balance cable 4,4mm and i think a hybrid silver/copper cable is the right way.

p.s.: I don't want go down the rabbit hole of cables :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
