How are the fit of these in the ears? I struggled a little with the fit of the R1 zenith being a little heavy, are they lighter?
The R2 itself are a tad lighter, but since they have a similar driver and chassis compared to the Zenith, its not really noticable. The cable is actually a few grams heavier with the R2.How are the fit of these in the ears? I struggled a little with the fit of the R1 zenith being a little heavy, are they lighter?
Depending on where you are in the burn-in phase, I experienced that very thing for about 10 hours. If you're using the red tip, switch over to black or blue until it passes. Your treble will be more substantial feeling after.I have had my 1st outing into the commute world with my R2's. On the whole this was fine, but I am not sure if it is the base/tip I decided to use (Red/Black) which I had been using for several hours last night and no issues then, or something else, but I have experienced crashing symbols etc which I hadn't noticed before. this has detracted somewhat from my listening pleasure this morning.
But I shall persevere
It might have been my choice of tracks, volume levels or even time of burning-in as I have had these connected to my Mojo Poly continually, home, travelling and work.Depending on where you are in the burn-in phase, I experienced that very thing for about 10 hours. Good shout. Will try that on the R2 later. While i'm writing i am listening to Joe Jackson's "Night and Day". A well recorded album with a lot of percussive instruments..... WOW, very good rendition of all, big and small percussions. Soundstage is wide and deep. The peculiar J.J. voice is well rendered, sibilants are quite lower thenthey were at the beginning of burn-in. Bravo R2 Aten.
Are you wearing them down or over ear? Down will be reversed, if I'm thinking right.are the L and R markings backwards for anyone else?

Which filters did you use ?While i'm writing i am listening to Joe Jackson's "Night and Day". A well recorded album with a lot of percussive instruments..... Black filters from R1/R1Z kit and Null Audio Lune Mk V. Slightly less basses and more trebles than black+black. The noozle is too a little shorter than R2 filters, more comfortable to my ears. I'll wait the burn-in end to try others settings. Another record to keep in mind testing the Atens is "Beach Boys in Concert". A lot of ambience and the rendition and location of second and third voices had left me mouth open and the rythm section Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar is astounding. Not a reference recording of course but, with the Atens you're in the first row IMHO.Which filters did you use ?
