It has a bit of warmth and it is not peaky or fatiguing bright. There is a touch of metallic timbre BUT it is not worse than a lot of other headphones of the category. Like similarly priced Hifimans.Nothing particular. All of my sources are relatively warm and velvet smooth, so it would likely be a decent match. The presence region is what concerns me, especially after loo over some measurements. I don't necessarily prefer a fairly flat and linear low end. I also like a touch of warmth. Just can't do peaky, bright, metallic, or splashy upper mids and lower treble.

I can't do Hifiman tuning unfortunately. Even the original Focal Clear is too bright and harsh for my sensitive ears.It has a bit of warmth and it is not peaky or fatiguing bright. I am with you on both!I can't do Hifiman tuning unfortunately. Even the original Focal Clear is too bright and harsh for my sensitive ears.

Well, if it's not overly bright or sterile sounding (like Hifiman), the metallic sheen is minimal, and there a hint of warmth, mayb I should try them. I've also read that they are quite bright out of the box, but they settle down with proper usage. Was the set you tested brand new? Would you say these are tuned similarly to something from Audio Technica? Kinda reminds me of the Msr7b from the description.I am with you on both!
The set was brand new but I left it playing music for about 100 hours, I didn't monitor the procedure though. It's been quite a long time since I listened to something from Audio Technica so don't know. I don't like bright tunings but I can sympathize with the AR5000.Well, if it's not overly bright or sterile sounding (like Hifiman), the metallic sheen is minimal, and there a hint of warmth, mayb I should try them. Did you find the fitment to be snug enough for some head movement without slipping or falling off?The set was brand new but I left it playing music for about 100 hours, I didn't monitor the procedure though. Not the most snug but still stable. Very comfortable, you can walk and do something else without the risk of falling down but not recommended for Head banging!Did you find the fitment to be snug enough for some head movement without slipping or falling off?

Whatever happened to the Aune give away for a pair of AR5000 for people that posted comments or reviews of the AR5000?

Do you think it's noticeably better than the honorable dt880 pro?
