I’m just about to make my decision on a new amp http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...highlight=gs-1, most likely the GS-1 and then doubt creeps in, is it really much better than my current setup.?
I’ve really been enjoying my SR325i’s and find they are about perfect with my Creek OBH-11se Rev B and, ….. I’ve just come across this older post …..

“As I've stated many times, OBH-11SE is a completely different amp from OBH-11. Apart of other differences (Class A, single-ended design) it features lower output impedance and would certanly work better with Sennheisers than OBH-11 (thought it is not a perfect combination). For Grados it is a very good amp (not only for cheapest one's - we've used mostly SR325 for it's developement) and will hold it's own against most op-amp based designs. So choose carefully and do a comparative listening before parting with OBH-11SE”

If you like how they sound with your current amp, why get another?

You've just summed up this entire forum quite nicely and succinctly.

Which Bryston Preamp.....does it have a headphone jack,,and how does it sound against your Creek?

It's the older .5, which does not have headphone jack and the reason I joined this forum a few years ago, to look for a headamp. It still is a great pre-amp< I couldn't justify the newer model with phono at a couple of grand or more .
Tried to get James Tanner to maybe consider producing a dedicated Headamp
awhile back http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...hlight=bryston
I'm sure they would produce a stellar unit and make my upgrade decision a lot easier.

I love my HR-2 w/ the SR-325i. I'm sure the GS-1 is a great amp too. just haven't heard one. The HR-2 is also great w/ Senns.
Good luck w/ your choice.

Concidered the HR-2 but with the exchange, shipping and if I get hit with duty import taxes I'll be up around $1300.00 Canadian.
