I just received delivery of this player and I'm trying to get it to play HD (24 Bit) wav and flac files without success. I was under the impression that this was a HD audio player. Does anyone else know about this player, and is it supposed to play HD audio? I can't seem to find the manufacturer's website anywhere.

from a brief reading it seems it advertises as 24/192 but only does 44.1?

Thanks ExpatinJapan- I did see that website. I actually feel cheated. What's the point of having a 24/192 dac if you can only play 16/44 files? The Colorfly players have similar specs and description, and they support HD files.

dodgy, theyve just called it a 192kHz dac, but while yes it is capable, the rest of the player and software isnt. just about any dac these days is capable of 192kHz the ones in the ipod are, but the receiver and software limit it

as far as i know, what qusp said is true

u need internal dac that support 24 bit 192khz and other component must support it too , for example SoC (system on chip)

Hi , I m new to this forum
Just got my hands on the Ihifi 812v2 driving Sony H3. Pretty good sound . The problem I am facing is that this player can't play music rip in m4a type and I have many of those.
Anyone can help me figure out how to play those m4a files with Ihifi 812 v2
Many thanks

With its current firmware, the 812v2 (just like all the other Xuelin players) does not support m4a files.  But, I think the 812v2 can be Rockboxed using the Rockbox files for the 960, and then you can play high resolution FLAC as well as AAC and ALAC files.  If you search the original threads on the Xuelin 960 you can find links to the Rockbox firmware that needs to be added to the 812 using the RK27Image_upgrader (this can be downloaded on the Xuelin site:  i-hifi.com) and the latest Rockbox daily build (that needs to be extracted to you microsd card) can be found by internet search for daily rockbox build for Xuelin 960.  I have rockboxed my 960s and it really increases the value of the players for me...
